Is that Cardiel label a screen or heat transfer?

Almost everything these days is heat transfer, with the ones that do still screen print having a fair bit of info about it when they are released.

At least from what I have seen of them anyway.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Yeah I def think its a heat transfer. Can't see layers of paint etc.
Anyone else skated this Cardiel reissue? Is it the same shape as the AH huffer?
They laughed when I told my friends that I was going to be a comedian.....well they are not laughing now!

@The Huffer  has and I think he said there was a little more in it, eg Cardiel was 9.25 whereas AH Huffer is 9.18

I skated it. Pretty sure it was a standard heat transfer. And, it was very close to the Huffer shape but a little more width in the guts. 9.25 instead of 9.18 and a very slightly shorter nose. A great board and I'd love to see Lucero bang a few more out. If you dig through the Huffer thread you'll see the deets:

Girl 8.5
Thunders 8.25 149s? Idk just threw em on for fun
Spits 58mm RF
SKF
Bronze
933s

Got curious on how thunders would feel…. Fella at the park dropped off this deck n hardware at the park n my buddy had these thunders so I just set it up to see how I’d skate in em
Everything felt the same except my ollies felt really consistent and good
Threw the Olympia ceramics in my cruiser and have to say SKF are the best bearings out there and there’s no debate

Are thunders and Ventures the same metal from the same factory? Feels like thunders grind way better
Also 933s might be the best shoe ever IMO

Quasi Q74 shape (8.25)
6 year old Indy 144 cast hollows (just got some Indy 94a aftermarkets, gonna throw em in after work tomorrow)
Spitfire F4 bighead 54mm
Bones super reds
Modus 7/8th Allen

Feels good to be back on Indy after a 4 year Ace fling and then fucking around w thunder the past year and a half. Also love this deck, really need the 14.38 wb but the board being 31.875 long and an 8.25 makes it so much more nimble

no idea, just got back last year after a 20 year break. been busy with wheel madness so far, so you`re saying different trucks should / could work better with this ? i`ve always had Ventures or Indy.

Wouldn't that be similar to like, Aces on a 14" wb?

It's definitely on the edge of extreme for how close your wheels are together but like, I would 100% have a blast on 13.75 wb and indys, especially cast/standard

Like someone was saying about the Jaeb board, the height and weight of the trucks is probably a reason it works

With a wheelbase that’s short I usually see most people skating ventures. Specifically the forged baseplate ones
But you’d end up loosing a lot of turn if your used to the Indy turn already

I’m really enjoying it so far.

I’d been on only DSM or Chinese Girl boards with similar dimensions to this but a much different mold for a couple years.  I notice I need to set up more inside the pockets for most tricks than I was previously, but haven’t lost the ability to get onto any ledges and the quick snap + heavy wheel combo feels really fun.

The V8s don’t feel much different than Indys to me in terms of pop feel, and I’d assume the staple Baker shapes were designed with Indy in mind.

Something a little different for me this time.

Huffer AH deck
Venture V8 6.1 trucks
Spitfire 54 mm Radial Full wheels

So far no modifications and everything set up from stock parts, although I did swap in a mix of Venture trucks to make the V8 6.1s from an original Koston 5.6 set from the first run of the V8 trucks.

How do you like this? I did the exact same 6.1 V8 thing to my old semi-retired Huffer over the winter but haven’t had a chance to get it out to skate yet.

I think because this is not a BBS / Mexico board, it actually works better, as the mold is shorter for all the DLX China boards, but all up it brings it in really well and feels nice and easy, coming from Thunder T-II trucks on normal DLX boards and other decks with short wheelbases, but maybe this will be more what I am comfortable on, eg longer kicks and shorter wheelbases as I get older too.

More info here, from the DLX Shapes thread too:

Sick. I’ve always ridden this Huffer as a similar 92/93-inspired novelty with 48mm Lil’ Smokies (38mm is just too crazy for most of the terrain here), but the long wheelbase always felt a little off even though it was a really fun board to skate. Excited to try it out on a short wheelbase now.

To be fair, 38 mm is too small for anywhere besides a novelty ride, which I really only put on to have a roll around on and take off again, but I machined them down so anyone who was asking about that era we were in who didn't experience it first hand could have a taste of what things were like for a minute.

Glad I have most wheels around 50 to 56, with the most common being between 52 and 54 mm when set up, but yes those Lil Smokies are pretty fun too, of which I have a few sets.  I was almost going to break out a new set of them for this board, but thought the Radial Full 54 mm wheels would be way more "normal feeling" for me on it at the moment.
