This was when it was brand new, but i'm still skating this setup.
Krooked 7.75, Venture highs, 54mm spitfires and china bones. I will never skate another wheel below 53mm.

-8.0 red stained Blank deck from my local shop
-Venture lows, Janoski's model. I took the top washer off and put on some thick ass riser pads so I can skate em loose. Ventures won't skate loose for shit, I'll have it to where the nut is about to fall off and its still not loose enough. I'm going back to Indys next time
-51 mm Ricta naturals, white in color
-Rush Abec 5 bearings
-Jessup grip

I scrolled though and thought "I must have already made a post here recently" when I saw your setup... thank you for getting one. If it weren't for Jim...there's just too much good to say about the guy.

Anyway, I have the same setup except that my wheels are Streetburners.

I just got a new board. Toy monster 8.125, Spitfire Drehobl 57's, Here's the whopper: I got some Thunder 147's. Thunders! I haven't bought or ridden anything but Indy's in over a decade! Not only are they not Indy's but they aren't even silver. They're green and white Templeton's. I only skated some flat tonight. Tomorrow, actually grinding and shite is going to be weird.

i slip out of tail/noseslides constantly with thunders because of how inset the baseplate is, it just doesnt lock in like indys.  other than that they feel kinda good, a bit of a squirley turn but whatever.

Yeah with the 57's I was getting wheel bite on flat so I dug up some risers and thought I put them on wrong or something. I'm going to front nose and tail test in the morning.

ok, yea, with 57s you're doing all your sliding on the wheels and not the actual baseplate.  so i wouldn't even worry about it.
