Finally got to the Manchild part in Vince's episode at the end and I was expecting a lot worse. I went though the whole episode waiting for the cringiest moment and instead I heard 3 grown men hashing it out like grown men do. Lots of positivity in a conversation about a negative moment. Respect to Vincent for defending his teammate but even more respect to the Bunt gang on how they handled that interaction and didn't back down.

Imagine saying "He's still growing up" about a 24 year old man. Jesus H Christ.

I am 39 and there are a ton of people from my high school that still need to grow up. But they were way worse at age 24. To give man child credit, he does need growing up but also take responsibility when you act like a dick. He can’t wonder why people hate him.

Was still funny though, and honestly manchild should be the most embarrassed, Vincent should have kept it out of his episode.

Big fan of the bunt after that tho

The point about Gustavo and the price it costs to just get there, and to place makes it hard to feel bad for someone trashing runs. Some put the chips down on dreams.

Side note back in the day if you did something dumb, you got handled, slightly embarrassed and left a bit more thoughtful to how you affect others. Skating needs more of that and less of the check the tape, sponsors, crew mentality.

Get defending your bud, but you got 3 dudes talking about some other dudes dumbassness, with accounts you can’t speak to. That’s a recipe for cringe.

All in all, cool ep. Vince rips.

I don't expect 24 year olds to have their lives together, I certainly didn't, but to me saying, "He's still growing up" is something you'd say about a 17 year old, not someone who's physically fully grown with a career. I guess it's the phrasing I take umbrage with, not necessarily the sentiment. Vincent meant it in his defense, but I found it a bit condescending.

The male brain isn’t done developing until age 25.
Good judgment isn't something they can excel in, at least not yet. The rational part of a teen's brain isn't fully developed and won't be until age 25 or so. In fact, recent research has found that adult and teen brains work differently. Adults think with the prefrontal cortex, the brain's rational part

i definitely thought they were going to ask vincent about the events that led to a canadian chocolate flow rider quitting the flow team after meeting them on a chocolate/girl canada tour a few years back.

i don’t know the details at all but apparently it led to a few of the girl/chocolate guys being denied entry to the dime contest for treating said flow rider poorly. seems like some great juicy gossip that us message board folk would have loved.

And that is if drugs and alcohol aren’t inhibiting it.  You know those kids who started drinking and puffing at 17 and haven’t stopped who act like they are emotionally 17?  That’s why, and that’s probably mankiddo

Speaking of problematic behaviors,  I have been going back and listening to various episodes.  During the Pat Burke episode, he stated that Greg Myers was someone who sucked to go on a trip with and Cephas indicated that name came  up a lot.  How many other episodes was shade thrown (besides the Fred Gall episode)?

The story of Greg Myers calling Matt Miller "Andy" is pretty funny at 18:00 in his episode. While trying to remember which episode that was in I heard Mikey Taylor said Greg Myers was his worst teammate ever at 47:50.
I thought it wasnt just him solo, shouldve stuck with my og thought.

Finally listened to it and the exchange about manchild at the end was Not nearly as awkward or uncomfortable as I was expecting from reading this thread.

New Episode up with Ryan Decenzo - https://soundcloud.com/thebuntlive/the-bunt-ft-ryan-decenzo-s12-episode-08-this-covid-shit-is-really-fin-up-my-paul-machnauing

Ryan coming out swinging with the "that's why we need those darkstar Walmart boards in stock, I don't give a fuck what people say" within minutes of the episode starting is amazing. already stoked on this episode.

I really dug how thoughtful they were about setting Vincent straight regarding Manchild and the kook callout. Vincent is rad but clearly wanted to stick up for his boy no matter what logic and them explaining circumstances of the less fortunate like Felipe Gustavo's trip to Tampa Am and the privilege that Manchild doesn't comprehend was solid.
Rad to hear that Cory is getting out soon.

It's around 8:45 when they're talking about what his first board was. Real early in the episode.

I never got the hate on Decenzo. Because he skates contests? Because he’s on red bull? Look at Ishod. Contest dude, monster, and Nike and people worship him.

I mean the kickflip double set with Phelps yelling and the cover of Thrasher with his bro are two of the best things I have ever seen.

His hungover game of skate story was the best. Also, how he thinks a kickflip back nose blunt slide shove on a ledge isn’t good enough haha.

And what the fuck? Andrew Pott wanted to fight because Ryan might have done a hard flip first? Ryan switching up to a front three was being the bigger man.

Edit: Think what you want about Darkstar but this part still gets me hyped.

Maybe his style isn't for everyone? I dunno. I've always been psyched on Ryan. He has done so much gnarly shit in his career. There's actually not many people in the same league as him with consistently doing huge shit and mixing up the bag of tricks their whole career. He has never put out a soft part or any footage that makes it seem like he slowing down and the dude is 34. Great episode, was waiting for this one.

Maybe gnarliest Canadian ever? McCrank and Machnau in their prime were going hard obviously, but Decenzo has done some of the gnarliest shit in skateboarding ever.

This.

Also, what the fuck is Vince suppose to say to that petty high school shit The Bunt guys played. You need an apology from Vince for Manchilds behavior? Dude just skates for Chocolate, he's not the kid's chaperone. They should save that question for Tyler, Mike or Rick.

"Oh, Dono, Cepha man, so sorry. On the behalf of Girl/Chocolate and myself, sorry for Manchilds behavior. I wasn't there and your bitch asses probably weren't there, but I deeply apologize. Sorry to have upset your barely flow asses"

Get the fuck out of here.

Dono, Cepha and some you dudes in this thread need to take a cue from Vince and grow up. This is some weird shit you guys are on. Vince doesn't owe you guys shit.

I have no clue what you're saying but I definitely kook'd it. I guess I was having an emotional day. Listened to that episode the next day on a long drive and it really wasn't a big deal either way.

Looking forward to another episode and I relearned not to say much until I read/watch or listen
