You know truthfully Im not even mad at being the "worst style" pick for a lot of people. The whole idea of rapid fire is to prompt people to talk shit so fair enough. However,  there are pros who have thrown shade or been disrespectful for no reason at all outside of the podcast. Those are the ones I'd have something to say about.

It's settled then. All y'all who've been complaining about too much barnbuilding in recent seasons, go flood the post office with requests to get @Pine on!

What are your thoughts on Frankie Spears’ style?

Just catching up on episodes. Dude is about to go the Dadd/Salabanzi route and get himself blacklisted. It’s a funny transition from Shane O’Neill’s episode about running a business and not wanting guys who are hard to work with on the team and calling out self-cheering.

What was the trick at 2.50? I watched it a couple of times and have no idea.

Admittedly I haven't really followed your career but do you do many grinds or mainly focus on flip tricks?

Like I said, Iv only ever had nice things to say about the guys skating. I thought his Dickies part was super sick. Iv never been a stickler on style but I could see how people would be questionable towards his with the wavy arms and what not but hey when you’re doing shit at that level, its not always going to be perfect 🤷‍♂️

Thank you! The trick I believe you’re referring to is what I call a switch FS big flip. Basically a switch big heel but with a kickflip instead. Switch FS flip + switch FS bigspin = that.

I don’t skate handrails unless they’re tiny but I love me a good flatbar or shoot out ledge. I dont think Iv ever filmed a ledge line. I have the most fun with the flip tricks and stairs. Thats all I had growing up so I kind of just stuck to that. Admittedly , handrails scare the shit out of me haha.

Sorry, I should of got my time stamp a bit more accurate. That trick was wild but it's the clip after that. Maybe a switch double 360 flip body varial?

There are a ton of rumors. Salabanzi said he got kicked off Flip for self-cheering and not fitting their image or wanting to skate El Toro. It's hard to say, but it seems obvious he had a hugely inflated ego and was notoriously difficult to work with. That's why that Flip video got buried and why Spears' AWS part is going to get buried.

Salabanzi had a second wind with Primitive in 2015, but got kicked off after he started begging for money on insta to buy a dream guitar.

Also seems like kinda a dick in general.

Leabres was pretty boring until the rapid fire part then it picked up steam and fired off some shots

Made me rewatch his most recent footage tho he’s got a very enviable wallie game I’ve always wanted to learn how to slappy/wallie up tall ledges instead of curbs

“All you had to do was skate, Johnny”

Goddamn dude
It’d be interesting to get more behind-the-scenes info on J-Lay’s twilight years. He loses all his main sponsors practically overnight at 30 and his sponsors claim he’s not skating despite having a gnarly full part ready to go for Vans’ full-length video “Propeller.”

Seems to me he was still skating. The Carlsbad switch tre should have minted him for life!

The fallout from that and the subsequent interview on Jenkem never really felt like they got to the core of whatever happened because Layton was employed by Vans in a corporate capacity. Can’t bite the hand that feeds ya.

Wish they would've asked him about Ed's current role at Toy and for a good story about the guy.

Even a sinclair story - or what he thought about putting on first Dashawn then Cordono

Frankie episode was so difficult 🤣 Alien gotta be so hyped he's of

Brennan Conroy came out looking like a solid dude.

Frankie really should go to Powell or Santa Cruz or something. He sees skating as very transactional "I do the tricks and you pay me the money" and doesn't really fit on a company that has more of a team or artistically centered vibe
none of us skate we just make fun of it

Sucks to hear jeremy got hurt so much. He came out of the blue for me with made 1 and I still go back to watch this part from time to time. Interview was a bit slow but finally a good controversial rapid fire again. Also the first time I got random skater of the week early, I had those 95 x-games on a videotape my brother recorded in german sports tv. Chris does this dope ollie into transition to start off his run. Also cab totally blew it not landing heelflips in bank etc if I remember correctly.
