I think the Psl stuff is corny af but let the guys live. Everybody would use the connections they made during 10 years of podcasting.
Bunt is still the best Podcast we have and i like that they have guests from all over the place.

The thing with The Bunt is that it was always slightly similar to the nine club in the sense that most of the questions were pretty broad/basic and dependent on the guest to tell interesting stories. The difference between the 2 is that guest would come on the bunt and would be willing to get spicy with their takes/stories. The bunt guys would also encourage this and that's what ultimately built their fanbase early on. There would be times when a guest would go on the nine club and the bunt and even though the bunt episodes were shorter, they offered more entertaining content in less time. The thing with journalism, similar to how GH does it, is that you do have to keep both worlds separate in order to always have an objective opinion on what you're presenting. Now that these guys are boys with half the industry, the product is going to lack and they have to be nice to everyone. The guys refusing to say Edglrd sucks was embarrassing. Not to say they shouldn't do what they are currently doing, but they should know that people will notice and talk shit on it. I will say tho, random skater of the week has become the most interesting thing on the bunt now imo.

I too feel the PSL / sleep over at Atiba’s drag of this season but you can’t hate on the bunt. They’re as dedicated to skating as it gets and it’s cool that they weren’t pro and have genuine respect for the guests. And they aren’t just trying to to be controversial, they do the work to ask the guests friends for good stories, which is why they get dirt.

I’ve heard some of the best stories from pros from the bunt and there aren’t many outlets where you get cool candid stories.

Also: Dono is the man and he has some of the best responses to guests. He cracks me the fuck up

I still appreciate the Bunt boys and don't feel their approach has changed all that much. The major difference of interviewing big pros like Nuge, is that literally all of his shit has been covered already in a polished medium with Epicly Later'd. Like, all love to Nuge, but the world didn't need that episode.

They also know sweet fuck all about skating before the year 2000, so that can be challenging with some older guests..

That said the Tim Gavin episode this season was all-time, Louie's interview was solid and Daniel Wheatley's was a top contender too. I really wish they would throw some Canadian guys in the mix though because those have always been the most entertaining episodes when people have exited the industry. Lee Yankou, Glenn Suggitt, Gailea Momolu, Paul Machnau, Russ Milligan, etc all could be good contenders.

The contractual obligation to like PSL feels extremely forced though. Even for those guys that shit ain't that interesting.

Both banger episodes too!

The Gilbert ep is gold after all these years as well.

Was just going off memory so definitely spaced on those episodes. Probably good for a re-listen.

in criminal court when the DA reads defendants' Pre-Sentence Investigation Report and refer to it as a PSR rating--that also makes me smile despite defendants being truly naked and afraid of the criminal justice system

I assumed anyone who skated in 1992 or so would have got it with the clothing brand I mentioned or the dual pro board if someone was around for 1989.  I did know putting those in early wouldn't matter for Davis, Dono or Cephas because they weren't around for that era.  So I frontloaded my questions to at least get to clue 7-8 or so.  Stoked this one turned out good

The Bunt isn’t perfect but they’re a hell of a lot better than the Nice Club for getting genuine unfiltered conversation out of people. And they haven’t stooped to any Gary V bullshit to my knowledge… yet

And that was the second time he brought up "cancel culture" in the interview.

Fuckin' yuck. Always makes me take pause when someone bitches about "cancel culture".
Makes me wonder whose cancellation they're riled up about, or if they're worried about cancellable skeletons they have in their own closet.

A lot of the interview seemed off. Trying to shoot these unfunny awkward shots at them, rambling, implying that he’s not really skating much and partying. Didn’t quite live up to the build up.
