And that was the second time he brought up "cancel culture" in the interview.

Fuckin' yuck. Always makes me take pause when someone bitches about "cancel culture".
Makes me wonder whose cancellation they're riled up about, or if they're worried about cancellable skeletons they have in their own closet.

Yea that kinda rubbed me the wrong way, don’t do weird shit and you don’t have to worry about being “cancelled”

A lot of the interview seemed off. Trying to shoot these unfunny awkward shots at them, rambling, implying that he’s not really skating much and partying. Didn’t quite live up to the build up.

He’s dating some singer , he’s definitely in his cool wealthy dude bag right now skatings just a job to him anymore.

If anyone listened to the mail section, what was Ted Barrow talking about?
Some event in 2018 that ruined his reputation or something?
Anyone got sauce on that?

Complaining about cancel culture always comes off as a way to get in front of your own bad behaviour.

I think in this specific case it's just an idiotic take, but would have been great to get a further explanation. Chris Cole being squarely in the mix of PSL is going to influence a lot of people with minimal critical thinking skills. Wouldn't be surprised if Ishod had him in mind since he is the peak of "cancel culture" in skating.

Uhm well... he doesn't. They're both people, so they have that in common at least.

Once again talks about "cancel culture" and "capitalism" in this interview unprompted -

Haha, his photography insta is just his name backwards! Feels eight years too late to be whining about “cancel culture” but I don’t expect [most] pro skaters to be up on current events.

Ishod is easily top 3 all time imo. That being said, I kinda wish I didn’t listen to this. Complaining about cancel culture is the last thing I expected from him.

I really miss the days when you didn’t know shit about your favorite pros outside of their skateboarding.

The interview was fine, it had some highs, a couple lows.

The voice notes/Q’s had me wondering.

The Ghost isn’t open about his gambling addiction too often, yet I wonder if that’s why they can’t get paid for PSL due to their financial risk operations behind closed doors. The hint about Mikemo’s crypto scheme together adds up. I appreciate El Don’s slip there.

Can’t getting Pete Rose’d in season one of PSL.

Transcript from the Ishod episode mailroom:

Donno:

“Dude, I mean, you don't really go on the message boards anymore, especially Slap. But the shit that these guys think is going on with us these days is insane, man. Like they think we've completely switched up from who we once were, won't talk shit about anyone because we have too many friends in the industry or too connected.
There's layers to the thought process of these guys now. And obviously, you know, doing this shit for nine years, you make a lot of friends along the way. But much less connected than people think.”

“As a 20 year old, it's a lot easier to talk shit than to not give a flying fuck. Now, when you don't know anyone, and now I'm going, you know, we're different, we see everyone, which is a big thing as well. We have these events that we want people to come to.
We have these trips we want people to come on. If we would have gone through and burned every bridge on the way to where we are, we wouldn't be able to do these things.”

It’s fine to just admit you guys are too connected to speak freely anymore. It’d be more respectable if you just said that instead of trying to play both sides of the fence. This obvious contradiction just comes across as disingenuous. You want all the top pros and big shots to come to your events & therefore you guys have calmed way down on the shit talk that drew many of us to your show, keep it a buck.

Lol, Cepha goes on cruises with Atiba and stays at his house, how can they say aren't connected?

And yeah agree with your last paragraph.

Ishod talked about how he looked up to Daryl Angel and was hyped on his skating until he went on a trip with him where Daryl was a bullying dickhead. So it turns out that in addition to battering women, Daryl is also not a very chill hang.

Trying to cancel Ishod for saying cancel culture…
Outing Cephas for an alleged gambling addiction…
Insinuating a mikemo crypto scheme…
Claiming the Bunt sold out and is disingenuous for not saying they sold out…
Wishing you never listened to the Ishod interview but still listened to the full interview…

I was expecting a different response but I guess the internet is only for complaining. The interview was fine. You guys need to relax. No wonder no one wants to interview anymore. This is why we can’t have nice things.

I thought the interview was pretty good.
Cepha questioning Ishods old ss fs blunt line was a little uncalled for but it made for a funny conversation so I can't really complain.

And I think Donno did a decent job of explaining how The Bunt has changed and evolved over the years. But sure, if you want to be nitpicky I'm sure you can pick his answer apart. I'm just not going to do that myself.

Ishod interview was entertaining, because Ishod is a character.
I see Cephas and Dono struggle with not so talkative and less charismatic guests, especially with missing follow up questions on potentially deep topics.

With so many years doing interviews I expected bunt interview skills to improve, but they have plateaued for last few seasons now.
