I don't know the business of competition skateboarding but there has to be a reason why Mo is doing this. I assume a lot of it is sponsorship based and if they get funding from these companies, it can pay off the skaters who compete, the labor to make the course, the wages of the employees, etc. I assume you add ticket sales as well and maybe a business loan but turning a profit on this can seem likely if Mo can be consistent with these contest. I think if any, the first couple might be successful since it is new and then there might be a falloff later.

I have a really strong suspicion he may have lost a ton of money on Crypto, because someone that would be well off in that world specially after promoting it for years, would never talk about putting their house as collateral for this makeshift contest. I mean that just doesn't make sense to me, your house would be the last thing you would put on the line unless you really don't have anything else to put on the line. Maybe this is his last hurrah to make as much money as he can from skateboarding because maybe everything else he has built with Glassy and or ABD is gone. Idk that's just my wild guess, I wouldn't have thought this if he hadn't expressed he was gambling his house for this contest like 30 times on the nine club.

I was the biggest MikeMo fan since Fully Flared until he went to DC. I enjoyed the first PSL match (basically just a game of skate on a stair set.... literally that's it), but I thought it was too long and dragged on. It was fun though, and better than having to deal with a scoring system that most contests use.

However, Mo is a fucking idiot for putting his house on the line. Absolutely the dumbest shit I've ever heard. Also yeah he definitely lost a lot of money from ABD. His own fault for falling for crypto and NFT scams (even though he was doing the scamming).

I'm surprised he brought up "billionaires" a few times. Isn't he a huge fan of Elon?

I was thinking how tragic his career ended up. He was the golden child with amazing skills but ruined it with his dumbass drinking. Obviously, that statement wasn’t serious, but my sarcastic point is that I’d rather that they just have him on in that way as opposed to taking up episodes that don’t need to exist. Besides, they’ve had worse co-hosts. The Nine Club appeals to the normies, and that’s not a bad thing, but when even the normies are complaining in the comments about the quality of the show, then you know you fucked up. If you visit the comment section now, there are diehard Mike Mo fans, but it’s literally just people complaining that Chris should just watch an episode of PSL, and that it’s really not that complicated as to need a whole episode.

Like guys, I get that you are using a fucking Star Wars command deck, 5 cameras and a Roger behind the scenes, but there are kids in their mom’s basement making better podcasts with less difficulty.
