David Loy was a great guest and a great messenger for his mission(s): battling MH, rebuilding career, dealing with addiction, coping with trauma, etc...
I especially appreciated his openness to name the drugs because most often when pros talk of their past struggles they'll just refer to "drugs" or "addiction issues", which does not serve as an adequate warning to impressionable youths who could slip down the more dangerous paths: benzos, coke/alcohol cycles, Rx pills, being the most common.
Even Phelps' and Grosso's cause of death went discretely unmentioned.
David painted a very vivid picture of how partying and living the life can spin out of control and I hope that his stories will trigger some people flirting with that lifestyle to pump the breaks when it starts to seem very familiar.
I enjoyed the clarity, composure, and good humor. I hope to run into him a festival some day.
