I also enjoyed it. Rocco is obviously most known for World, Big Brother and 90s street skating, but he was also one of the first proper street skaters before Natas and Mark. Starting SMA Rocco Division with just street skaters wasn't some marketing ploy, it was what he believed in. This article in Skateboarder, and advert, are from 1980.

Did they ask Mike V who he’d rather live with, Dustin Dollin or himself?
Haha. I think we could all guess the answer to that one

I’m an old head I guess, but I wish it was a 4 hour episode and maybe have covered Rocco’s come up

i also wish it was a 4 hour episode but if rocco is going to be a returning guest with a different guy to talk to every time then that's cool too. someone mentioned natas, that would be a dream come true and i'd love to learn more about 101. mike v wasn't even that bad in this

Did they explain why they would ruin a potentially good Rocco episode with more Mike V?

Ok I’m about halfway through and so far so good. I was too harsh.

I couldn't stand Mike V. Felt like he was doing his spoken word shit; like he gave them a list of stories that he wanted to focus on. I was disappointed Jeron didn't have more to say. they should've told Kelly to take a day off and brought Castillo in on the episode.... weak episode imo. Shit, how did they not ask, "whose idea was the world park?" to lead to "how did you feel about riders stealing product?" Almost every world skater theyve interviewed has talked/laughed about it. Or, "You say McKee takes ideas and makes them better. How much influence did he have with Big Brother. Did Big Brother turn out to be what you expected?"

When does Jeron actually ever have anything to say? Admittedly he's a legend and a super nice guy but honestly, his contribution to the episodes is usually close to zero. Good for him though, if he gets paid for that he's got the easiest job in the world.

mike v quit world in 91, first big brother was in 93 and i believe the world park was opened around that time as well. for this episode it wouldn't really make sense to talk about those things since mike v doesn't have anything to do with them. if they wanted to do a full world industries history episode it would have to be like 8 hours long with a whole cast of riders to remind rocco about shit he might not remember off top

And isn’t this the ‘new’ nine club thread? I remember one with tons of pages getting nuked. What was up with that?

What do you mean by medium in this case? The 'skate interview' in general or the nine club's take on this? Because while I agree most nine club interviews aren't that interesting, I do love every bob shirt interview ever done. So there is a right way of going about it. The nine club just isn't doing it right.

That's when I stopped watching. This Rocco episode is the first one I've watched in a very long time.

Can't lie. I thought that ad was totally bitchin' back in the late nineteen-hundreds.

Tf you expect? Expecting crob to be capable of any level of journalism is too much.

Is jeron wilson really a legend? i dont think his career is legendary, is it because he was apart of some elite teams and he is still around in the context of this podcast?

It would have been sick if the Rocco + Mike V episode didn't have Mike V in it.

Mike was just in the way with his arrogant insecurity and weird retelling of stories. I've already suffered through Drive multiple times, I shouldn't have to listen to Mike's nonsense to get to a a good Rocco story.

I don't agree with Rocco on a lot of things, but I'd still like to hear what he has to say. Even if Mike V and I agree on something, I don't want to hear him say it.

Legend is in the eye of the beholder. Justin Strubing is a legend to me due to the various circumstances of my upbringing and things that influenced me. He may not be legendary to a 16 year-old skater from Florida in 2026 — but as a 16 year-old skater from the Bay Area in 2002, Strubing was my guy. I’m sure Jeron checks that box for at least a few people.

Just because you’ve been around a long time doesn’t mean you’re a legend

Jeron is NOT a legend
