Skate dad here. Is this a special skateboard?
« on: March 15, 2020, 03:22:52 PM »
Lost a skating family member and I am going through some of their stuff to help the family triage things. I came across this deck and couldn't find anything about it online. Is it worth anything? Gino Iannucci Chocolate.

How would I go about selling it for the family? Thanks for your help!

I'm sure you're just joking, but I am interested in selling it for the family.  Do you know a good place to sell and a general price?

Thanks!

It's a pretty good board to learn on, if you know someone who is interested in skateboarding you could give it to them as a present.

it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay. i checked ebay current/sold listings and couldn't find another one. i'd imagine somewhere around $150-250.

^ Yeah. Either that or a board collection group on Facebook. Haven't seen that one before, but I don't think it's highly sought after. Even so, someone might buy it for a reasonable price.

Unless it is Gino's first (it's not) or last (?) board w/ Chocolate, it's likely to fetch anywhere in the $20-$50 dollar range, skewing towards the lower end, unless there's somebody out there with the rest of the series & they're missing the Gino model & are dying to complete the set.
As noted before, ebay is likely the best option.
Or try your local Craigslist & list it for $50 or best offer.

EDIT: I'm a rude fucker for not expressing my sympathies to you & your peeps. Sorry to hear about y'all's loss.

My condolences. List it on ebay for what you feel is a fair price. It’s not necessarily a highly sought after Gino board but is a Gino Chocolate. I hope you get a good price.

not trying to rip on you - but gino is popular with the collectors and I think that set is pretty popular as well.

No offense taken at all, friend. My knowledge of Crailtap product from that period is indeed limited, and I differ to your knowledge.
I didnt recall it being one of the more sought after series, a'la the many beloved Hecox series, or guest artist deals that pop up now & then.
Truly hope skatedad can get every penny its worth and then a few, considering the tragic circumstance.
Good on you for setting me straight if I am mistaken.

Aware, but does that alone make it worth more? Not tryna' be a smart ass; I'm genuinely curious.
That is to say, would somebody pay more than retail for, I don't know... a Plan B P-Rod deck, or a Zero Chris Cole, for example. I sold an autographed Mark Gonzales Real deck (last release before starting Krooked, which, incidentally was originally going to be called Fewture, before Deluxe had trouble with copyright issues or some shit around that name, but anyway...) and I could only get $80 for it after holding out hope that a wealthy collector would take interest. Only sold it to pay some bills a while back, else it'd still be on the wall. Thinking I missed the boat by being tat the airport when it was leaving dock, so to speak.
Without derailing skatedad's thread to severely, you reckon somebody could enlighten me?
Also, get that cash, skatedad.

Sorry for your loss op. But to Lou Strux any Gino chocolate board is worth money. Especially since he has been off for a few years now. Also board collecting is way more popular nowadays. But I don’t know exact figures on this board but definitely over $150.

No

It will take you forever to move a deck like that because there's no market for it... if it was a 101 board that's a different story but still... niche market... you'll be lucky to get $50 for it.

It's a pretty good board to learn on, if you know someone who is interested in skateboarding you could give it to them as a present.

Assuming you have a well off financial life, dont even bother with the hassle of selling this thing. Just give it to a loved one who would appreciate it or take it to your local shop to donate to a kid who needs a nice deck.
