I know JS Bach is not the be all end all of Baroque music but honestly, Bach informs a large part of my conception of that era's music.

Rameau just sounds so different, I know that's stupid to say but I don't know any other way to articulate it. I don't know, I guess the geometry of the music is so different than what I'm used to hearing from Bach.
