Whenever I have to deal with starsign talk, I think of this. This album is really good, at least if you're into wall-of-sound style production and can either enjoy or get over the kinda-rapey, hermetic lyrics. RIP Gustavo Cerati...

EDIT: I really fucking love this version. Listen to the guitars. Look at the puffy mullets.

New Thee Oh Sees. I guess they dropped the Thee for their new album coming out in August (album #19 for fuck sakes). New single sounds sick and I'm loving the album art.

Luv this one...

Makes me think of the classic, "life is hawrd" sentiment, but somehow manages to leave me feeling that everything will be alright.

i discovered this band a little while ago and i really love their album. kind of a throwback 70s vibe and just a solid album from start to finish. they cannot play live though, like at all. the girl on the drums is pretty much playing backup for the drum machine. i dont think she could hit the drums any softer without completely missing. the lead guitarist just solos over the whole song like a dick. the bass player, i dont know, his singing just sounds off. the girl playing rhythm is kinda sexy and stays in the groove. shes the only redeeming one.

Yes JB!, had that on repeat all morning, this should be an interesting album given how dancey this song and a preview of another one they put out, sounds.

i was playing the shit out of that one, but the one from the teaser video didn't do it for me in that little snippet. to me it sounded like a 2011 EDM remix of a queens song if that makes sense. im stoked to see how the rest of the album sounds. they dont have any bad ones, so im sure it will rock.

Been on a big Preoccupations/Viet Cong kick the past few days. I dont listen to them often, but they just put up their cassette EP on spotify and are reissuing it on vinyl, so listening to that really got me back into the band. Some of the songs sound a little subpar production wise, but overall, its worth a listen if youre into them or postpunk stuff. Their cover of Dark Entries is spot on too.

and some faves from their albums.
