 :o

not a huge fan of opn's more recent sound, Returnal will always be his stand out work to me but thats just me.

Parquet Courts released a song recorded in 2013 today and its their peak form, excited to see what they do next but hope it takes inspiration from that era

i've recently realized that probably more than any other single band I've listened to in my near 50 years, i have returned to the Cocteau Twins most consistently and for the longest time--since my early teens, so over 30 years. their music is unlike anything else, and it is timeless, and it is just "very sparkly"

Yeah, Cocteau Twins are great. Elizabeth Fraser from CT just had a feature on a song off Jonsi's (the main guy from Sigur Ros) album that came out recently:

This might be my favorite Animals album. I have it on vinyl. My high school physics teacher had a box of vinyl from a renter that disappeared and gave it to my class. One kid knew I liked them and grabbed it for me.

I thought Jonsi's latest album was pretty good overall.

It was produced by A.G.Cook, who has put out a ton of great music this year too.

it took me a minute to listen to this...thanks for posting it--it is quite lovely...it does not take much of Ms Fraser's voice to make a song "very sparkly"

This song reminds me of college when I was very lonely and sad and had bad acne. It also reminds me of my deceased childhood friend and college roommate who introduced me to Elliott Smith. He used to sing and play this on his acoustic guitar. RIP bro.

Excellent song, Elliott Smith's version is great too.
Apparently he wrote it, but then gave it to MLL to play, cause he thought it "sounded like The Eagles".
So many of the best songs he wrote, never even ended up on "official" albums.

Recently did a thorough comb through the JAMC discography and was pleasantly surprised how much I liked Automatic. Prior to that, I just cherry picked songs from Darklands and Psychocandy. Boy, was I shooting myself in the foot.

There's a legend that he literally threw it away and Mary Lou Lord picked it up out of the trash because she thought it was such a good song and he let her use it. I wonder if there's any truth to that.

Another of this dude's songs was recommended to me a few weeks ago. I dug it, but left it alone until today when I randomly went back. I really like the playfulness and wit, someone on the vid said reminds them of Doom. Is see that, sort of...
