So 24 or so years ago i was introduced to The Slackers through a hellcat records sampler, and instantly fell in love. I went out and got their album ‘Redlight’, which became a soundtrack for quite a few summers.

Recently the guitarist in the band has made dub versions of some of these classic songs, and it is like going back, but hearing them fresh. Really well dubbed.

If you know the material and want to hear the album, its sick. Especially the dub of Soldier, which is a very contemporary song about the police.

And the link to the album

yes!!!

Scrawl are incredible....more 90s "indie" music with excellent female vocalists.

i love this song and i did not know that there was a "music video" for it...thanks for posting this. i had it on this 7"

https://www.discogs.com/Scrawl-Your-Mother-Wants-To-Know/release/787517

funny thing is, the B-side is one of my all-time favorite Scrawl songs too right here...

i know i mentioned them above, but they are so important and easy to miss...this 7" was put out on Simple Machines, a label from Arlington, VA run by Jenny Toomey and Kristin Thompson of Tsunami, who were responsible for so much priceless music in the 1990s (especially early to mid) and i so recommend exploring...

The Raymond Brake is one of my favorite bands on Simple Machines...an exceedingly delightful 7" right here

sorry for always running away with people's posts in here, but  it does my heart good to see what was going on in the early to mid-1990s get some humble attention like in this thread in Slap...

Been going down the rabbit hole with modern detroit rappers. Rapping style isn't my favorite but the beats make up for it.

Can someone explain in Fortnite terms?

Yo thanks for that information! I actually live in that area.
I am slightly familiar with Tsunami but I would have never assumed there was a decent indie presence here once upon a time. I see that Simple Machines released a nirvanadrummer album as well, I knew he was from the area, I'm pleased he did it through them.

I had this wild Germs tribute comp back in the day and this (along with Matthew Sweet doing "Dagon Lady") was my favorite track. I used to listen to it driving to go hang out with this girl I liked, who I was super into but she was way over me. She called things off. Like 10 years later we met up and started hanging out and eventually got married. I hadn't thought about this song or this comp since but hearing it definitely made me feel some kind of way.

That's beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
I have the same album. Also has some awesome contributions from L7, the Melvins and the Meat Puppets.
