all the shit i've been seeing at house shows has been either twinkly emo rock or garage rock with a psychedelic edge to it. Some bands get crazy and combine the two. Also, female singers are very trendy rn. A great local band from the town I'm in is Growing Pains. Most of them go to school with me. Candy Picnic is great as well.
