Hi, if anyone know any info about Vietnam skate scene please add here

What are the skate spots and shops in Hanoi that I should be looking out for?
What's the scene there like?
Is Saigon or Hanoi better for skating?
If it's always raining are there indoor spots or parks?
Not skate related but is there punk rock scene there? gigs? bands?

Thanks

Allen.

I spent 10 days in both of those cities this past September.

Skating wasn't a huge focus, but from what I seemed to gauge from my experiences there, Hanoi seemed to be solid for skating. I came across a few open areas that have some ledges and huge areas for flat in Hanoi - being Lenin Plaza / Park (near the HCM Mausoleum) and another one being on the east side of the Ho Hoan Kiem lake - Google street view might be your friend in locating it (recall seeing Pier 7-esque manual pads, but of marble). I think there is a "Skate: Hanoi" on the Ride Channel that has both of these spots if you want a visual as well. Seemed like a decent amount of people skating in the early evenings passing by these spots.

I didn't see anyone skating when I was in Ho Chi Minh, so no dice on there from my end. Hopefully someone else has some any input there.

Just left Hanoi about a month ago. You will only get parks in Saigon, but Hanoi has a cool skate scene too. For Hanoi, Lenin Park was super popular when I was there but there's a DIY spot that's coming together now. About 5 min motorbike from Lenin. Just chat with guys and they'll start showing you where all the good street spots are

Indonesia and Malaysia have the best punk scenes on that side of Asia. I used to travel there for months at a time bouncing between different houses and crews. Lots of anarcho info shops and very active LGBTQ groups and artists too. Have met so many rad people over there. Can't wait to get back. Have never been to Vietnam but that's definitely on the list.

I've been to Sarawak and would recommend it. Beautiful national parks and lots of wildlife. Kuching is a nice little  city. Very laidback

Need some park/spot recs while I’m travelling next month. Mainly in Saigon and Hanoi. I’ve heard Lenin plaza is a go for sure.
