Is getting the boot from the baker camp a deathwish?
Has anyone recovered?

Lets look at the past riders and how their careers have panned after they got the boot or left.

Antwuan Dixon Drugs, Buffoonery, lengthy history with authority which I get but it's whack being at a demo and he's stalking about like a prison inmate contemplating who to punk out. Dude you rip we know it but  no one here wants to fight you...

Jim Greco  Drugs, his huge fragile ego, biting Vincent Gallo,  Jeremy Klein pervy sage ass

Leo Romero He just seemed too cool for those guys which I get and greatly appreciate it he left as it wasn't a good fit for him

Mike Maldonado He breeds pitbulls n burbs of Philly ( he kinda blew it with joining Bam on leaving Toy Machine)

Pat «Sinner» Pasquale Dude's a dipshit who gladly enjoy Nyjah's sloppy seconds

Braydon Szafranski neither terrible or particularly marketable and let's not forget that stupid Bacardi type of bat what a jackass. Plus who wants a overtly sex maniac who could possibly bring a sex scandal to the team?! He could've fallen into that whole Feddy Potter situation if he wasn't in to banging older sexy MILFs..

Jeff Lenoce they fucked up passing him up and not propping him up there with the rest of Floriduh talent truly underrated in my opinion.

Mike "Lizard King" Plumb dude is a sack of shit met him quite a few times when he use to come around Denver area plus he stole my tattoo fucking idiot. Last remnants of Pig Wood and that Baker maker hesh style.

Shane Heyl this guy just sucks his ledge game is tight for a homie shop video but c'mon the idea of becoming skilled at your feet game trying as you might to get somewhere and some dipshit who is annoying as fuck just gets a pass because he's boys with a team?! Kinda sets the standard low for those actually trying really hard at making it.

Knox Godoy kid was fucked since jump street with his uncle and dad being dirtbags and quasiracist hanger ons around the southern Cali scene wouldn't be surprised if a friend of 1010.

Terry Kennedy How are you going to boot the only comedic entity for Baker?

Dee Ostrander dude was talented but he was a combination of Pig wood style and that whole Mike Plumb, Baca laziness.

Cyril Jackson but why though he was killer and a good fit or is there an unspoken allotment for black skaters on Baker/Deathwish?

Donta Hill I don't know this dude but from what I've seen seems like a TK replacement who is better than TK.

All I'm saying with this rant is Baker had talent and could have had a legacy of helping out others but it seems like a deadend much like Element has become.

Leo got soty2010 so I’d say yeah

If I recall, he had the word board sales on the team at the time and the brand was more focused on pushing guys who fit the Shake Junt aesthetic, so it made sense for him to get out of there.

One thing I found interesting is that for how popular Baker/Deathwish is, none of thier riders have ever won SOTY (besides Andrew).

That’s not an unpopular opinion with me. Spanky’s Baker 3 part was ahead of it’s time.

With that said, I am glad he’s back and fully ripping. I think we can all agree that we’re just happy he’s not piled out Spanky anymore.

Funny enough this picture right here was at a buddy flop house I was at in Athens, Georgia.

I believe it was his Passion tour him and Ritchie Belton stopped by and hung out throughout the night. I heckled him a bit but genuine dude.

I’m just bummed he has the same Indy tattoo. I got mine around 16 from a homie it was supposed to be green camo but it’s blended together.

Isn't Greco technically on Deathwish still even though he's doing another board project.  It was him and Ellington that started Deathwish.

He certainly did at one point, but maybe it's covered up by with some rosary beads or something now.

Vovian Vurnquist has an antihero tramp stamp too.

Surely there's alot of ex riders with ex sponsor logos inked on them. The best / worst example is yer man Albert that has DEATH WISH tattooed above his eyes. Maybe that's why they kicked him off, he got too crazy first time trying coke on tour and demands he gets his face ruined.
I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.

its two different spankys in my head; we all wanted to be the first spanky incarnation as kids
grown up spanky looks so fun to skate with
