RIP.
It's sad how this has become so political.
When you remove politics, it's clear who is the victim and who is the perpetrator:
One man attacked an armored man who just killed someone. This was done to nullify what he (sadly all too correctly) saw as an ongoing threat. This is what we mean when we speak of courage/heroism: putting yourself in harm's way to prevent the further proliferation of harm.
The other man showed up to a neighborhood in a state he didn't himself live in. His goal was to protect property, and his plan was to do so with a gun he possessed illegally. At best, this was out of a value for property. Most likely, given his prior interviews and photos, this was out of a place of ego - a man trying to play vigilante. This is what we mean when we speak of cowards: showing up to an area you don't belong to cause contention, armed in such a way as to be safe from any meaningful confrontation.
Looking forward to the LAW & ORDER + 2A zealots to comment on the police ignoring a citizen crossing state lines with an illegal firearm.
