Just ordered two boards. Quick shipping. Not really worth ordering only one due to shipping cost but if you order 2 or more, its a good deal.

SW has some new, “premium” blanks up.

https://www.skatewarehouse.com/Skate_Warehouse_Skateboard_Decks/catpage-DKSKATEWARE.html

Made in the U.S.A

[close]

Measures true across the...board. No discerning markings of note.

Nice shape, rounded/slightly full nose, just a hint of taper on the tail. Feels just a tad thicker/heavier than an equally sized Toy Machine/PS stix.
[close]

And they are natty tops??? Bout to get my Ross Norman on.
[close]

Yup. Full natural, orange middle ply....throwing on some silver/raw trucks w/white bushings, white wheels AND white-azz grip (I have no idea why I went with white grip).

Medium / Mellow

Wanted to touch base on this one, you still liking that shape xen? Thinking about copping one today

I jumped shipped to size up in both width and WB. Time spent on the blank was great, shape is very nice, zero complaints and would skate it or a diff size again.

Does anyone know if it's possible to mix & match sizes on the skatesamples.com 10-pack?

Sadly, no.
But the 5 pack isn’t too heavy of a commit & still a great value (if you’re stateside.)

I wanna play you in a game of SKATE for the right to continue talking shit on me… You think you got me?

I ordered an 8.5S and 8.25 from Skate Samples. They sent the wrong 8.25 and I emailed them and in less than 24hrs they sent 2 more decks.

The 8.5S is a wider 8.25 with a 1/16" longer nose BTW. A wider, mellower Manderson shape. Really nice dark teal top ply, 3rd ply is purple, bottom is a gorgeous orange.

Little bit of an offtopic. Has anybody tried to find "blank" shoes? Maybe just a simple cheap vulc shoe without a brand but still a decent shoe, or something along those lines.

And speaking of trucks I think blankdecks.com sell a no brand thunder truck (same mold, same materials or so they claim).

Any more blank gear you guys might have found online?

Was gonna say they look more like an Indy but then I noticed they claim same mold and materials as Indy for the non-hollow ones and Thunder for the hollows.

If I was in USA I would buy Airwalks from Walmart 100%. In fact recently imported a pair for the price of real skate shoes. :D

fascinating on those blank thunders. They look good.

It wouldn't be hard to track down the thunder and/or indy factory and say hey, ship me a few. I'm sure others already have.
blank indys

a ton of trucks already look identical to indy
Compond (zumiez house brand)
Foundry (prime wood)

In general a lot of the generic trucks that are based off pro brands skate well enough, from getting a few here and there just to test them and see, but they also don't quite feel like the pro brand they are trying to copy, more often just little things, but it usually adds up to the truck feeling weird.  I guess that is the thought I have when I know what Thunder / Indy and others feel like, so skating some of these and others, they go alright for basic stuff, but a number of them also ended up breaking or bending axles as they just can't hold up like pro brand stuff does.

For a cheap kids complete, they are ideal, but for an adult, especially one who can skate, I would recommend some caution before jumping in a buying half a dozen sets, unless you plan on passing them on to kids or beginners.

Hopefully that made sense - it is pretty late and I am just checking things before heading off to bed.

Just ordered the GFB shape from skatesamples.com. My daughter is going to paint it up for me as my Christmas gift. If I decide to skate it what is the width over the trucks?  I’ve got 8.5 inch trucks on my current setup but would go up to 8.75 if needed to keep from too much magic carpet.

if anyone likes south central wood, AWH distribution has all their stuff in blanks right now and my local got one in so I scooped one today. average 14.5 wheelbase which isn't that fun for me but I remember skating their wood a long time ago and feeling like it was the best stuff besides pennswood. so if your local orders through them, you can ask if they can get some for you.

they're one of the oldest distros in the country located in the Midwest that supplies for local shops and maybe even internationally who knows. but if you have a local that orders from them, see if you can get them to add however many blanks you want on their next order. they don't do direct to consumer, unfortunately.

Anyone know where I could source blanks 8-8.25 with 14” wheelbases/length under 31.75” or am I better off just shopping sales? I’ve been skating a lot lately and I can’t afford $80-$100 decks at the rate I am wrecking them, yet I am still a picky bastard when it comes to board dims

skatesamples.com G825S shape is 8.25x14x31.75 pretty good deal if you can swing the 5 pack. otherwise shipping might make just searching out sales better option

Any quality blank wheels out there by anyone’s experience?

the thing with blank wheels is that you're not going to find blank f4s or stf equivalents up for grabs. So you're playing in the muck when searching for blank wheels. At best you get wheel on par with some b-tier wheel brand.

I bought a few pairs of blank "made in the USA" swirl wheels from TGM, a while back when they were on sale. I got 3 sets for under 30$ free shipping and I still have a pair left. And they are fine, like Snot or Cyclops. Not the best, but better than Crupie.
