Just one thing to add since there are some of us on here that fall into the age group.

At age 50 (earlier for ethnic groups that are more vulnerable to it or those that have family that have had cancer), men should get a prostate exam.

I’m a year late, but I have one scheduled for next month.

For sure, my uncle passed away due to prostate cancer, when you get to 50 ask your doctor for a Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test. Especially if there is a family history.

Thank you for your timely advice because I was able to ask for a PSA test this morning when I went to see a doctor at the cancer center (for my high platelet count) after telling him I was late in getting a prostate exam.

Don't freak out if your PSA is elevated, though. It is not specific for prostate cancer. Also, get your colonoscopies.

Gonna piggyback and say doctors are actually recommending 40 now some even saying 35 given the massive jump in prostate cancer in the 30-50 demographic the past decade.
