Appreciate the kind words from you guys! Sometimes it feels questionable for me to dress the way I do at my old age, so the compliments hit home. :)

Honestly I call "age appropriate" adult fashion "society fits." Slim pants, some boat shoes/boots, a button up, a watch or some shit. The standard 30+ outfit that honestly makes me cringe. As a 33 year old, most of my peers who don't skate spend their time at breweries, paddle boarding, jogging, having brunch, playing pickle ball or some other absurd shit. If I'm not at work, I'm not gonna fall into that. I don't live that lifestyle anyways.

It's really fun pulling up to breweries wearing Polar 93's and some dunks and out beer nerding the dudes with curled mustaches and skinny jeans. Getting looked at all crazy. Even better when I hit liquor stores looking for really hard to find whiskey, catching the cashiers off guard like "didn't think that's what you were going to ask for, thought you were coming in for Patron or Hennessey". I'll be 36 this year and honestly as long as my boss doesn't give a shit what I am wearing at work I don't see myself changing.

I'm convinced the standard issue adult uniform is only popular for the same reason marvel movies are popular. NPC brain. Everyone dude either wants to look like a moderately hip software engineer or a musician. I'm not even saying the modern skate look is the best look but the casual fashion of the average 30-40 something is depressing.

I've been struggling with this recently. I am kind of a man of many hats. Live in texas, skate/surf rat my childhood, hunts and fishes, dressed nice when needed. Now i work in finance and and just turned 30 last year. Wearing the finance bro uniform to work every day (but with half cabs etc)

Trying to find a balance between "I do what I want" and not be "man child permastoned"
I swear some of my friends turned ~30 and turned into a cowboy or country club boomer overnight
no, i live in an efficiency by myself and work in middle management like you, loser

I work in a field that requires me to be super diverse and look presentable at a moments notice

But my uniform in life is usually always the same

Black or plain blue Levi’s 502

A pair of boots and a pair of vans authentics… one on me one in the trunk

Plain pocket t shirt whatever color and I keep a plain fitted pique polo or checkered button up in the trunk for a more formal meeting

I feel like myself but also feel ‘reasonably’ mature

I do a really similar uniform: 501s, carhartt pocket t. Shoes in phases, but my ideal would be redwing chukkas, and last resort canvas low tops.
If you have, and feel like sharing, recommendations on boots and pocket t’s, I’d appreciate it.
Thanks!

I’ve kinda been tripping on that a bit lately too. Everyone I work with is “business casual” (fuck I hate that saying) but I just can’t do it. I’ve worn big boys to work and that’s fine but there’s some jeans (Tiago’s) that are too big.

Im 44yo and I’ve been flirting with the idea of slimming it up a bit. But then I think fuck em! But I can’t see myself wearing big boys when I’m 50… or maybe…

I haven't skated them and dont plan to, but they feel really good on feet. If anyone needs that extra ankle support I would definitely recommend trying these. That strap will do wonders.
