I don't think he is insufferable. He is weird, charming and a very stylish skateboarder but he is a walking paradox. I also don't think he's as smart as he thinks he is, maybe he knows he isn't. He's controversial and a talking point anyway. Look at all the comments of people just giving their opinions on him, that wouldn't happen with most skaters. The socialist/capitalist comments were so ridiculous ha.

Kinda looking like Jared Leto these days:

I came here to post that ahah

I met him once a few years ago in NY. I was a bit star struck but tried to not be too awkward. We didn’t talk much but he was super chilled and quite friendly. Then saw him skate the supreme indoor bowl in Brooklyn with Scott Johnston, which was sick.

I really like 917 and was quite bummed when the whole team left, but maybe that guest idea is actually cool. Doesn’t take as much commitment as having a full team I would guess.

I met AO outside the supreme store in NYC, he had double braids and looked like a hunky Wendy Mcdonald

I was a young and bugged out on him being there.

I will continue to purchase 917 boards because they are the best boards and I will continue to cringe at anything Alex says because he is a dork and I love him.

Maybe im late to the party on this news, but did not know that Baker Boys distributes 917 now. Was looking at the summer catalogs on baker boys and saw that 917 is included on their website now. Maybe some baker FL homies end up on 917 in the future?

Yeah.  Alex seems like he’d love hanging out with Tyson and anyone with a shake junt grip

I mean he skates with Spanky, Heyl & Ellinghton on a regular basis, so I don't think that matters.

Was going to say, keeps getting these great clips while skating with Spanky. Good influence for sure. I love AO and this interview made my day.

You’re right.  A highly opinionated guy like Alex probably has no thoughts on one of the tackiest looking things in skateboarding.

He has featured pretty prominently on the above mentioned stories over the last 3 months or so. Ripping too.

Difference between skating with them putting the Baker Florida guys on 917 which is what this was about in the first place

Agree that Aaron Loreth is under appreciated.

I like Alex. One time on a crail couch interview Meza asked him how far he got in “unschooling” and he replied tongue in cheek “I beat the game”

Are we looking at the same graphics?A clear motorcycle, a fan and a jet? Shit looks like price point my first skateboard  Walmart deck graphics. Jerry is great but it is what it is.

I love the idea of a guest model only 917. The edits would be great too it would always be new riders it would be great.

said this in another thread but the lesson of 917 is that if you're some sort of postmodern ramblin' man with no ties to anyone or anything, then don't start a company and team where your primary responsibility is paying a bunch of skateboarders, handling their logistics, sending them on trips, giving them a context and platform to suceed etc. I'm glad 917 will continue but I'm also glad the John1Wilson gang got the fuck out of there. Cyrus and gang are way to good and way too unique to be on a team run by a guy that only likes skateboarding culture 13 days out of a year.

this made me lol

The best part of this was him mentioning the person who wasn't on the team calling him to quit. Alex acts like he made it clear who was on and who wasn't, there were between 3-20 people in the 2nd 917 video who I couldn't distinguish from one another

they didn't ask him about flaking the second vids premiere

I bet 917 is going to have a great redemption arc -starting up as a guestboard thing and ending up with the whole FA/hockey squad in few years, Kevin Terps is first on the line
