Tricks that were lost in the Intro
« on: July 04, 2021, 08:26:57 AM »
There always had to be a couple gnarly tricks in the Intro, but a few I feel have been forgotten

New Blood - Chris Cole bs flip the Wilshire 15. Didn't like the angle, probably why it was in the intro.

Ride the Sky - Billy Marks 360 flip bs boardslide. I had heard about him doing this trick at best trick contests, and it was a shame, to me, how this trick was relegated to the intro.

Yeah Right! - Eric Koston nollie back heel a bump to bar. Might not be the craziest bump to bar, but jesus what a thing to do at such a spot, and in 2003.

Anybody got any others?
I was standing staring at the world, and I still can't see it

I was going to post this one too. It's up there with Guy Mariano's switch fs shuv bs nosegrind down that little handrail in the ending credits montage of Mouse.

Also the opening of Virtual Reality was very cool but looking back I missed Sheffey's bs heelflip way up high on Berrell banks and Guy's fakie fs halfcab fs noseslide switch heel out at World Park and Rick Howard's bs noseslide on that shiny kinked 8 stair handrail at the Santa Monica Bank. There's others too but those stand out as "the one that got away" to me.

idk if this was really forgotten, one of the most memorable parts of blessed imo. Party due to the trick but also everyone knowing about the gnarly slam he took trying it previously.

I always absolutely loved Ellington's kickflip front board down the old tall, square Ocean View rail (not the "new" rail that's currently there) in the intro to "Misled Youth" where he gaps out pretty far and kind of barely gets on but still lands it. It's very possible that he fell of not too far after the initial land, relugating it to the intro, but especially for the time it was both really gnarly and stylish.

A lot of people here talk shit about Nickel which is fine, but I’ve seen a lot of people who say he isn’t a pro level skater which I gotta disagree with hard.

Not the intro but the credits... Guy's switch front shuv crook a handrail in Mouse...

I remember hearing about he wanted to have ... Gav's??? 5050 before him... So they didn't use it in his part? Or something? I don't know, i'm hungover.

Gino switch b/s flip over a bump to table in the 101 Trilogy intro. It's only shown once and easy to miss bc of all the other skate clips shown.

johnny layton sw tre macba in suffer the joy intro. then again, he did it down carlsbad in his part but i guess the fact that they used the macba one for the intro is a testament to how good he is at that trick

always felt like that should've been in the credits to the belle and sebastian song, with one of ed's drawn speech bubbles  coming from johnnys mouth as he pushes off the wall

the big 4 is a weird one for me. feel like its never been about the spot, but more so the way the clip was used (arto in sorry, reynolds in tis credits)

Someone in the New Blood intro eats shit on the Miami Triangle gap and I was always curious about who it was and what they were actually trying to do
