The trick feels so different on a proper ledge. When the wheels hang over it’s close to how it works on rails. At least for me.

He approaches it like a back lip. Back foot goes over the obstacle and he aproaches the edge backside. so its the same movement as jumping into a back lip.

I can see the front board aspect of it, but for me its a back lip.

Back trucks DO go over the edge.

I guess its something in between.

This logic is just of. Expanding that logic, you're saying it'd be impossible to boardslide from his starting position because either way he turns his body his back foot would "go over the obstacle" as you put it. It's a fs boardslide. Sorry for addressing an older comment but the reasoning there just kind of blew my mind.

If he‘d bs boardslide from this starting point most people would refer to it as a „transfer front lip“ not in my book. Sry.

Also this here‘s anotget one by suciu at 2:20

Thx for reminding me of chewy cannons front boards.

There are some fucked up ones in his LAF part.

Nollie (!!!) front board on a drop ledge at 1:55

And a gnarly sw front board in brussles at 4:00.

Not that I could Nollie like that, but I can see the overall movement being beneficial to how one needs to get into Fs Boardslides on a ledge. Like, pulling up the front of the board shifts the weight where it needs to go in order to avoid locking the front wheels on the ledge. The one at 4:00 actually perfectly illustrates where the center of gravity needs to be. At least from my semi-theoretical point of view as I am trying to learn them.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I really like the look of fully lapped bs boardslides on ledges. Particularly when a skater:
- rocks n' rolls it back in
- rock fakie back in
- pops out of end (forward or fakie)
- fs bigspin out
Must be fully lapped and fast/smooth to qualify

Templeton meets criteria, I think Willy Santos has a good one too

Edit: not too worried about relative level of difficulty, I just think well-executed ones look fucking cool...

Anyone doing them popped off to fakie "inside" a ledge? I had this trick in my younger days and want to relearn it. I really love the feeling when the board pops of on bs ones to fakie on ledges.
[close]

Yeah my bro it feels dope
I don’t think pinch is the right word but you basically want to go to front nose and drop in on the ledge in one quick motion

You don’t actually go to front nose and drop in but it sure as shit feels like it if that helps

For some reason sw front board pop out to switch (drop out?) is easier
I really like front board stuff on ledges
I do this trick and also 270 out by kind of whacking my back wheels on the side of the ledge
waved and warped
RIP fugluk (Tristan)

Frank Gerwer did one to fakie down clipper. A sequence came out in a Thrasher interview in 2009. I don't remember ever seeing the footage
