cariuma took home the most medals, lol.
I don't understand the judging at all. Yuto's good but for years now in best trick he does the same handful of tricks and even at that the tricks he does are similar, yet the judges throw him 9's all day. Even his run scores always seem inflated, during which he always skates slow as hell and ends up doing fewer tricks then the other skaters. He also flipped his board once during the entire finals.
The dude pops out of nollie more often than any other stance so the judges shouldn't treat that like it's his hardest stance. I'm pretty sure doing any of those tricks fakie would be harder for him at this point. The judges never penalize him for repetition either.
The judges were all around terrible though, Angelo got shafted multiple times (pun half Intended), Hofler got shafted on his finals run scores, Axel got shafted on the frontside flip big time. Honestly that was the best trick of the broadcast. He passed over the rail at it's very peak and it was a perfect fs flip. should have been a 9 for sure and they gave it a 6 or something, what a fucking travesty.
I think that as long as Yuto landed 4 tricks they were going to make sure he won. The Olympics are a criminal organization after all.
Also, what the hell were they thinking doing qualifiers and finals the same day, 30 minutes apart in 90 degree heat? Seemed like everyone was so gassed the skating had become considerably less impressive by the finals.
The whole "uniform" thing was super gross too. Camera work was embarrassingly poor. Commentary was bad too. Made for a really sloppy broadcast.
Rant over. I just hope this is a one and done for the Olympics and skateboarding.
