I used to fuck with Fat Bill edits. But I really can’t with those purple highlights and green shadows on his latest stuff, feels like dude is trying to anticipate a a IG filter nostalgia already

Better than the Italy video he put out before, filming was about as expected. Skating was great but holy Christ that meek mill “song” is horrible, I had no idea people outside Philly listened to the noise he emits. End of the video is sick on mute
[close]

that meek "song" is a freestyle from a 2005 philly freestyle tape lol

His whole catalogue sounds like something you use to coerce false confessions out of prisoners in Guantanamo Bay

just realized half the violet crew is from philly which makes the song choice make more sense

I used to be able to tolerate strobecks filming, but it's getting more ridiculous with every edit. He's literally spinning his camera with the aggressive zoom now, it's like he's a parody of himself at this point. He totally botched Tyshawn's 3 tricks up that set of stairs, and they were all fucking nuts. Hardflip, nollie hard flip, nollie Tre. Some of the hardest tricks to do up things IMO.

And his music choices have gone from nostalgic to just fucking corny. Wtf was with him filming that woman trying to hide her face?

Or maybe some Berlin rap would be interesting, either old or new.

Should have just used Harleckinz - Berlin Love on repeat

I think the next offering should be even more avant-garde. Filmed completely upside down, viewers will have to physically move their tv or do a headstand.

You arrive at your friends apartment to go skating. You open the door to find 3 of your friends tandem headstanding watching the video in silence.

Just before the credits roll, "fin" appears on the screen in the fanciest of cursive. But like, upside down.

A true cinematic masterpiece.

I'd unironically love if Bill said "fuck it" and made a fully freaked, avant-garde skate video. Give me all the fucked angles and crazy filtering to the point that the skating is completely illegible, and make it an hour long please.

now that we're pretty deep into these strobeck/supreme productions, it's interesting to see how they cycle skaters in and out of the core group. used to be very sage/sean/tyshawn/kb/aidan heavy, then as the magic wore off with those guys they loop in the french guys, then the ny guys, then the trad skate industry guys like kader and rowan. they need to keep it fresh so now there is some atlantic drift guys, some milan guys. now it looks like strobeck is trying to recapture some of that original magic around seven/troy.

which ultimately makes the violet experiment kinda interesting because what's gonna happen in 5 years when whole team has too much facial hair and they're jaded with skating?

probably do exactly what you just said.

I wish Bill would frame skateboard tricks as well as he frames women half his age who clearly do not want to be filmed.

what a bunk video. no shade to the skaters... the filming and editing sucked the life out of the skating.

luckily mind goblin is the death knell of this low-energy demonic trash

What's the timestamp of the knee getting rocked?? Sorry for being a baby.  A similar happened to a friend of mine a few months ago and it's wigged me out since i saw the footy.

Also this summer Auguste skated by me and my boo making out on a stoop in Soho and said something I couldn't hear. Not a brag or anything I just haven't been able to explain it to anybody

What Supreme riders absolutely hate having their tricks filmed by Strobeck, but are too afraid to say anything? I just can't imagine doing some of those tricks and watching them back on his camera and being happy.

Major shoutout to Troy, his ender and Nik Stain’s kinker 5050 were my favorite clips. Nice to see Casper and Marnold too. That back smith was incredible.

Didn’t care for the filming or edit. One could argue “If you don’t like it why don’t you watch something else” but it’s a bummer cause I like all these skaters. Bill’s shtick is to be expected every time with these videos but god damn has it gotten annoying.

Was thinking the same thing. He's making a real German spectacle of himself in with this video.

This is not the videos like the ones I watched 20 years ago, but I feel that Strobek is pushing the medium to progress I guess? Soon he will hit the right combo and make a classic?

It's like all the stuff kids are into these days. I don't understand it, I don't want to understand it, but they are doing their thing and taking things where they want them to go.

And whilst Strobek is older than me, maybe the supreme riders are influencing how he makes these videos. I like how they sort of have a feel of being there, despite how I really don't like just seeing feet and board.

I don't know, the only thing I can hate on really is all the slowmo, close up smoking shit and maybe filming people who don't want to be filmed.

Also I only watched bits and pieces of this whilst I was busy cleaning so I missed most of it
Is it true?  Or did you read it on the slap message board?

i'd argue that photosynthesis (w/ castrucci) and cherry are both classics.

I haven't seen cherry, but photosynthesis is a classic for sure, it's probably my favourite slate video. I just didnt think it was a Strobek film like his current run of films
