I mean it wasn’t bad, just a little misleading. Not really an Austyn part - he was only in about half of the clips.

That being said, the front noseslide pop over to fakie was pretty sick.

Incredible skating with a lot of obnoxious zoom filming.  The edit was actually good though.

I'd be down to buy Globe but ive never seen them in real life except in South America and Australia
where is home?

So apparently this is a globe skate video called "Re Est." but Thrasher called this an Austyn part for some reason.  ???

gonna change the title.

Front nose 270 was nice. A bit surprised it said "welcome to the team" at the end, because he was announced on the team months back.

I mean, it didn't make me want any Globe shoes, but I like watching Austyn skate.

Was hoping for a full part when I saw the title, but was not disappointed. Austyn is one of my faves no matter how hard he tries to look cool. Hopefully he makes decent money with Globe.

that was dope as fuck.  i really hope the brand takes his opinions seriously regarding the vibe, style, shoe designs.

would be sick to see a skateboard native brand make a real effort to try and take back some control

"Re. Est." as in reestablished as Austyn's vision of Globe, right? It seems like there's a decently sized Austyn vibe/curation for the brand, taking over the majority of the skate division for Globe while still having a pricepoint section for the mainstream and whatever surfing does. Too bad I can't fully shake off the feeling of the mall completes. I guess those help it stay as a big business. I bet they've hoped for a reason to switch up the direction for a while now. Also who the fucc is buying those big fat puffy shoes? And I didn't know osiris, circa, and dvs were still sellin some of that bullshit. wow.

Interesting turn this brand has taken. I'd like to see more of Former Footwear if it makes me forget the CT-IV and reminds of of Bill Callahan. Still probably going to stick to Cons though.

Globes price point shoes were actually pretty decent as in the simple vulc shoes I'd say on par with whatever vans. As far as who's buying those big puffy shoes a)nobody b)ironic cool kids c) what we would always call crusty demons. Chunky Moto X, wakeboard, jet ski type Aussie blokes who are approx 40-45 years old now. Basically Jason Ellis types.

It feels like an Austyn Gillette part with the other guys shoehorned in. Coulda trimmed it to the main point of us being here but whatever.

I will always love this dude's skating, but agree on the calculated comments. It's aight though Austyn <3 .

The chelsea boot high-top slip on shoe looks kinda sick. Probably will never buy a pair though haha

IDC, I've always loved Austyn's skating. The front nose popover was the best clip i've seen a while - not just the trick itself, but the way it's done.

Like, i'm sure Suciu/Evan Smith/whoever could do that trick, but it would never look as good as that. Van Wastell was like that too

Austyn's style really shines on those seemingly simple but really awkward tricks. For example, I've never seen anyone do fakie back 50 fs half cab out but he made it look beautiful.

I don't know Austyn personally but I have always enjoyed his skating. I actually owned those globe Chelsea skate boots and I really liked them. Really nice fit, I would actually say for me personally I enjoy them more than most other slip-on models from other skate brands.

most people have no fucking clue about this shit, so an official video or something helps. it takes hearing things multiple times for something to stick in most people's heads. donno.

for me it's less in the arms and more about that long drawn out crouch in some of his roll aways.
points for the bill callahan choice though

I like what I see. Austyn has been steady putting out solid footage for a good while now. I enjoyed a video without any huge shoe logos, feel like in 2022 the skate industry might start to fatigue on the Nike/Adidas over exposure.

Is this what Globe thinks skateboarding is like in 2022?  The song felt like it should have been in a movie about like a mean old man who loves a horse.  Imagine being a teenager who gets stoked on watching this and rushes to buy some Globes.  No one but the human embodiment of a Martin dreadnought who also skates would get actually stoked to skate after watching this.

It’s some very wishful thinking that Nike and Adidas overexposure will cause kids to start buying Globes….

Especially since the team is Austyn, Appleyard, some guy who is/was on the new AWS, and then some other guy who skates similar to that guy.
