That was a pretty hard-out takedown, and fully deserved. I knew Longballs was a narcissist,  obviously, but it's clear now that he is also a sociopath. I don't recommend listening to Joa's voice on 1.5 speed, but sometimes you just gotta get it done.

If we’re to actually believe that no one’s retirement came from some kind of payout over workplace bullying, then honestly it’s almost poetic: he climbs high enough to retire early, then immediately speedruns losing every shred of credibility and dignity he built over his career through weird online harassment and bullying.

He’s just a virtue-signalling skate snarker, the victims and accountability were always secondary. The real priority is how it feeds the image he’s curated of himself, which is some kind of righteous skate journo mob boss I guess? Go back and read those old articles and it’s obvious he’s been drinking his own Kool-Aid for years. I think he must’ve mistook that payout for a morality trophy, proof he was the smartest guy in the room. If it’s true then it probably just marked the start of his capitulation.

(Not that anyone can believe a 4am email from a habitual narcissist pretending to be someone else though)

I don’t know what’s more cringe, the thought of him actually turning this in as part of a grad school non-fiction course or the thought he made that shit up to seem like he wrote it at a much younger age.

Either way it’s still creepy as hell and doesn’t address the fact that there were clearly friends in the comments claiming they witnessed it.
