Look like a 1920s worker
« on: January 27, 2022, 11:36:15 AM »
Not only can you work like you’re in the 1920s but now you can look like it too!

TACTICS X DEHEN 1920 COLLECTION

“Uniting three Pacific Northwest legacies of Tactics, Dehen Knitting Co, and Silas Baxter-Neal, this collection is a celebration of timelessness and longevity.

Founded in Portland, OR in 1920, Dehen Knitting Co. is a family-owned business known for long-lasting quality, workmanship, and rugged styling. Working with Silas on the colors and styles, we developed a 100% wool crew sweater, heavy-duty pocket tee, and wool cap manufactured by skilled craftsmen, right here in our backyard.”

And if you wear Nike with it, you can live like both a 1920’s worker and a 7 year old factory worker.

Dehen make great stuff, shame Tactics asked them to make such boring stuff. Their Letterman Cardigans and Varsity jackets are excellent.

Ahh yes, the famous 1920's workers who wore crispy, fitted white tees with a crew neck sweater to work everyday

On that note can anyone explain why, suddenly, every brand makes a knit sweater?  I have never seen anyone skate in a sweater sans maybe Tony Cox and Steven Ingvar Olson.  It's like all the cool guy brands got together and had a meeting about it.

I skated in 1904 too, and yeah it’s pretty accurate.

what is 1920s about a beanie and a t shirt?

I have some friends who work at tactics in the pnw and I understand attitudes may be different there, but to me wearing tactics shit is kind of wack. Like wearing CCS gear in the 2000s.

Silas is sick as fuck but under no circumstances would I associate his mid 2000's stretch-khaki pants / grey hoodie / pinwheel flatbrim / adidas vulc aesthetic with actual workwear. Unless you refer to part-time golf caddy at a public golf course as 'work'.

Can question the collaboration but Dehen has over a century of family owned, high quality work to point to. Something no skate brand will ever be able to say.

I guess it costs more to look like a 1920s worker now due to inflation

Because brands need to sell more than T's and hoodies to scale. Brands live and die off of peripheral skate customers buying their goods, so its important to appeal to a wider audience.
