Can anyone remember was there any skaters talking shit about Dylan when he was on top of the game? I feel no one did.

Outside of slap I don't recall that many things making fun if the team handsome asthetic, this ad def does but this was also published a few years before he passed. I get the criticisms of the whole Dylan phenomenon, it was def a whole style by itself. But love it or hate it he looked great on the board and ripped but I think anybody speaking ill of the dead is a kook. Also not you skatefase, I just quoted the ad you posted

He was beautiful and he knew it. His shoes were patent leather and lace less. He had never ridden for a whack sponsor, not even once. He skated across the SLS Super Crown Mega Park course without a care in the world, seemingly oblivious to the booming roar of applause his visage sparked from the crowd of post-pubescent children waiting on his every move. His hair was perfect in a kind of imperfect way that said ‘I just woke up like this, crazy right?’ His Mindfield part was actually pretty good upon revisit. No, really. His cock was perfect.

Older heads will remember him as a little shitbag on Quicksilver, long before team handsome.

"his body was skinny and long..."
Damn that was disturbingly cringey.
If that beachy guy would be younger i guess he would write erotic fanfics like some do about boy bands.

Pretty sure someone, maybe Quartersnacks, made a remix to Dylan skating to “Dude looks like a lady”. I remember hearing that it bummed Dylan out a lot.

Dylan loved that. Greg Hunt not so much.

I also want to point out that Kyle is a solid 8 or 9 years older than Dylan.

Was a newbie around here at the time that Dylan. dropped and for a few years after people talked shit about everything about him, wasn’t until make 2013ish 2014ish that it became less common

I mean more like pro skaters not this slap douches lame ass keyboard warriors :)

I get what you're saying but it's important to note how hated Dylan was here during his Mindfield/Gravis era. He was literally slap's most hated besides Jereme Rogers. Makes you take everything said here a little less seriously

A lot of people clowned him and then doubled down after cherry, though Alex "Pigtails" Olson took a lot of heat
Just skated 12 and A and thought about that lap D has in cherry. Gone too soon

Is the point of all of this to point out whoever we hate right now is actually going to be the best?

I Think It would be much more interesting to make a point to start praising the most bland, boring forgettable sponsored am/pro to ever be forgotten in the history of skateboarding. I here by nominate chapter 7 skateboard’s Ron resurrection! Even though that dude was actually really fucking good and he probably just didn’t care to blow up and go pro.

Dylan was one of my best friend’s favorite skater in high school, he’s always force me to watch his parts before sessions.
Dylan was never my favorite, but in the whole dorky world of skateboarding he held a huge part in what shaped me and my friends for some time. After he passed it felt like a huge connection between my friends was gone, but it’s still there when we skate and hang out. Definitely taught me to hold onto that stuff a little more

I get if he was alive we’d all probably feel different about him but it’s really just not that surprising that some posters on here would hold reverence  towards death

You mean the dude with the shoulder bag sitting no the railing that alex Olson skates up to, throws a whiny temper tantrum and tries to rip the bag out of the guys hands? The clip with the voice over is hilarious

Yeah, it's in the credits.

Kyle Beachy can save it. Some of his takes on Vent City are bewildering.

The writing was a lil bit korny, but so what? Life is Beachy.
Is it true?  Or did you read it on the slap message board?

I didn’t pay any attention to it back in the day, but now it’s all I can see in his clips, the trick is lost and all I can focus on are limbs flailing about and then freezing.

It is so stylized Dylan might be the 21st Century Dan Gezmer with his ballet style of skating from Public Domain.
