Wow, this one is tough to even process. I had to read the thread title a few times to make sense in my brain.
Never spoke to him but from his volume of posts I felt like I knew him well.
RIP to a legend.
Damn.. his last post is chilling. I’ll be throwing him a gnar everyday till his rep is positive
Why was it negative in the first place since he was so beloved. Maybe Mods can sort this out to properly honor him.
R.I.P.
It used to be that people on Slap were beloved when they had a super positive or negative rep with a lot of posts. It was kind of a sign of respect in a way and kind of a recognition that you were on the boards for a long, long time.
RIP to Tate. I absorbed so much shoe knowledge from him and like everyone has said, his positivity just shone through his posts. He was always good-natured, helpful, and took the teases in stride. I don't think anyone actually disliked him. He was a fixture of the boards for sure.
Condolences to his friends and family, but it's hopefully some comfort to see that it seems like he really projected his good humor, positivity, and desire to support people and skateboarding in everything he did (even posting on here) and that he had a positive impact on a lot of people. It is absolutely heartbreaking to lose a person like that, but those are some of the few things we can hope to do - help other people, make their lives easier / better, and throw ourselves into the things that make us happy - and it seems like he did that.
CotG said is better than I can for sure:
