walking around shady parts of town with a skateboard under arm has almost always kept me safe. the general eye of shady people at this point understand that its a weapon and a get-away vehicle. there is also next to no gun-violence where i am from.

does any body else have something they would like to share on the topic of " a skateboard as a weapon and get-away vehicle"

there has been countless times bar hopping and having my board with me to protect me from drunkards looking to get a fight going. also times when i just skated through the tent city to grab a 12 pack from the mini mart or something and just got a pass because i was probably rolling and they couldn't keep up.

one time i walked out from the skatepark and some dude and his chick with his other friend was sitting on a ledge in the parking lot and i took a piss like 25 feet away from them on a wall and he started throwing heineken  beer bottles at me just missing my head .

so i went back in the park got my backpack told my friends im about to beat up this dude. i rushed out adrenaline pumping charging too the fucker and two of my homies was right behind me.
I didn't ask them to back me up or anything it was awesome to start running and you look back and two friends are behind you in triangle formation.

so it was 3 vs 2 1/2 because, the first dude jumped up and said "yo stop my friend is drunk" then boom punched him and kept charging for the dude and he got startled fell off the parking lot barrier i was trying so hard to stomp the shit out of him but his girl kept getting in the way saying stop and  i was like "move bitch im about to hit you!" faked her out like 3 times and after that she moved out of the way he was up and running and got punched in the head and fell into the fence

his hat flew off so I taxed it.

his hat it was a golden state warriors hat (i later traded it for like 6 beers at a dive bar to the bartender her favorite team was G.S.W. because of steph curry this was around the time he was introduced to the NBA),his friend was running and my other friends chasing him boomeranged him with there board right in his back (shit just bounced off and made him run faster)

 he ran through the underpass of the bridge into traffic and got hit by car (not to bad, was epic asf, car slammed on the breaks,old lady driving.) and kept running. the friends disappeared by the time we turned around and we all dipped out from the park. even better my friends car was in the auto shop and he had a ford mustang as a rental car that day.

a few days later at 6:30pm at night

i skated over the bridge to grab some beers at the mini mart

i got stopped by one of there bigger tougher friends. and he was like calling me over as i skated pass with the twelve pack i think i heard the dude say yeah it was him and point at me. "He was like come over here i wanna talk to you" but he was a Goon and i know better. what the fuck does this guy want with me i dont know him and he looks like he could rob me standing in the shade of the tree sitting on his moped next to a couple of boys we just beefed with so i told him "nah fuck you and kept pushing over the bridge back to the skatepark.

 to be honest i was a just a little worried. and he jumped on a moped and beat me to the other side. obviously and was waiting for me. so im bombing down the bridge now and see him but i just keep bombing the hill and cut through the walk way and skate through a short cut and 1/2 the parks  parking lot is skipped and he is yelling "come here" from the other end closer to  the main entrance but close enough if he charged at me it would have been pretty close call.

i get back to the skate park and tell my older friend and hes like what tell him to come over here if he wants to talk to you and starts yelling at the goon "what,right here" looking at the way the guy is standing and drops his board from spread eagle position. the OG homie wants to get into a fight so hes yelling and trying bs 360s and telling me to chill out we got this if anything happens.

any way... no reprucussions happened and they knew exactly who i was and i never got caught slippin from them to this day.

thats why skateboarding is a sick asf and helps to gain a key to the city that not many others will get to experince the city in that kind of way.

Yesterday I fought a wasp, she chased me through the park the whole day. Some fucker sprayed coke on to the ledge. Tryed to clean it up with water but this made the wasp angry so she/he? tried to fight me. I'm not a violent human so I tried to run away but she was faster then me.

the first skatepark fight was when i was in highschool. me and the crew went and watched this movie called ninja gaden or something and went to k-mart after and i saw this one Nutty homie that i would smoke weed with before school. dude would have shaky leg after he burned.

legend has it he maschetted some other fool in the fore arm in middle school. it just got stuck on the other guys arm so they said,


he was with his chick walking to k- mart and we was walking out saw him and dabbed him up and I checked her out and then he came to the skatepark later accusing me of looking at his girlfriend but really i only just recogonized her from high school and then we had to fight. its pretty fucked up because he went to the boxing gym and he ended up cornering me against the fence and lighting me up. after i turned and bounced away because i was getting pushed up over the pyramid and into the rail so i bounced toward the fence not knowing what was gonna happen. just me i was getting punched and couldn't break out of it because the goddam fence behind me. none of the homies helped because they was neutral. i just moved to town recently and met all these kids in senior year of high school, he was like the gang connection to the park. this park is next to a giant low income housing. where they dont sell deliver pizzas anymore because tomany delivery drivers get mugged lol they take the cash and the pizza.

any way the next day him and his friend jumped the fence and i had to fight both of them.

that was wild. like turn one way fend of this guy who aint that mad at me( later he told me that the one mental kid said if you dont fight him, im gonna fight you! so he kind of had too which is some straight BS) and then turn the other way and fend off the mental dude. lol. I ended up running away and jump on my skateboard and skate back up the street to my apartment like 5 blocks away.

 but then like a week later he walked by the park at night by himself and i jumped the fence to proceed to not land any blows andget my nose broke. my friends filmed it. then i come back and say what the fuck why didnt you guys help. to them laughing saying that he's not even 18 yet im not gonna fight a kid, and me sitting there with a bloody nose.

 the mental homie burned all his lines of weed from the skate park that nite and he eventually moved to many towns away. he didnt come back because he knew drama is gonna pop off.loss all rights to drink and smoke at the skate park so i won. and i got that dude and his friends to not hang out at the skatepark anymore.

at that point i wanted to fuck him up really bad. even my dumbass older brother didn't help me with any of these street politics. god damn people are fucking posers and i guess family really ain't everything but in the end everything is all good! sometimes thats the way it be!

notable mention nutty homies friend Richie he would stroll to the park to grab weed on his bike and always had a bandanna. RIP too many black and milds that, that kid ghost ripped. died of lung cancer. RIP.

a really good memory is of this one kid i know. I dragged my element flat-bar to a basketball court to skate and he was just learning to skate. he boardslid the rail before all his friends (there like in middle school) and he was the most chubbiest one in my eyes most likely to quit, but he kept skating so i always looked out for him, kind of.

so a few years later we was at the skatepark at night. then some dude walks up calling out my friend at the park and the homie is telling me he has beef with this kid in his high school.

so im telling him go fight him, don't worry ill jump in if you start to lose.
im super happy and excited like practically jumping up and down.

 homie isnt so sure of him self. but he does it. he walks over there. the opponent highschool kid is rolling 2-3 deep and he points at all of us and is like "i want this to be up and up, 1 on 1" my other friend yells "yeah us to"
but these kids gotta be stupid if we are letting young homie lose.

my homie walks up to him and starts rocking back and forth and the opponent he's bouncing but ends up slipping and losing his shoe in about the first 5 seconds and is ducking down to grab it and my friend is dropping super slow hail marys on his head it was so funny.

then he ended up some how getting the other kid pinned against the fence and throwing some long super slow blows like mega gravity is on.

my homie didn't even get punched and as soon as the opponents friends was gonna jump in we was on the side yelling. then they would step back.

the other kid eventually grabbed his shoe and they knuckle bumped (total fight time was like 90 seconds) and the beef was squashed.

we was all yelling and so hyped for our high-school friend giving him props for weeks.

they was all adrenaline over loaded and drained and had to catch the bus back home and walk through the shady ass down town safely.

i stayed at the park with my friends till the very end, then lurked downtown like we did every night until 2 am.

 i asked him about school and he said nah school is fine now.

so i told him "you seeeeeee...."

She got louder and nastier, at this point like 20 ppl are just watching her cause a major scene and telling me she's going to basically fight me.

I wasn't going to be nasty til then. I told her she could either gather her spawn and gtfo of there or take another step towards me and I'd have to unfortunately demolish her in front of her kids.

Since I'd been nice and nonconfrontational up until then she realized I was serious and gathered up Brayden and Kayden and drove back to whatever shack they live in.

It was funny, I'm glad she didn't call my bluff though. I'd have hated to wreck her.

There was a kid was a junior in high school and he was beating up my other friend (7th grader) everyday cause they had some family beef - like his step dad cheated with someone's mom or some white trash stuff.
My friend yells some derogatory remarks at this at this guy and next thing I know he was chasing after all of us with some 2x4-like object. we round the corner of the building and instead of running I make the split second decision to just turn around basically windmill primo him in the head (mall grab style). I could have killed him. I knew instantly that I had done something horribly wrong, he was bleeding everywhere and totally knocked out. guys eyes were rolling back and he was failing to speak just moaning. I literally ran home crying and my grandma told me I should report this all to the police. makes me sick to even think about.

Since that day I have vowed only to use my skateboard for peace.

I got one. At 16, I was the middle man for a marijuana transaction between a dealer and a mutual friend. The dealer, for some stupid reason, was selling .8 of a gram for $20. He told me this and I was like “uhhhh ok”. I thought it was ridiculous but we’re talking about a bowl’s worth of difference.

The mutual friend gets the weed, then immediately weighs it. He’s furious that’s what he gets. I explain that the dealer made it smaller and the guy loses his mind about the dealer. I sit there and say “ok, just give it back and get a refund”. He calls the dealer and they refuse to do the refund.

Mutual friend tells the dealer to meet at the local skatepark to fight. dDrives from his house with 5 friends. Dealer drives over to the skatepark with like 20 fucking people. Just to be clear - this is all over less than a gram of weed.

They all meet in the park and a brawl breaks out. People are getting punched and kicked in the face. Everyone is losing their mind. Girlfriends, gangsters, literally everyone who was within a 3rd degree of these people on our town shows up for this.

I vividly remember standing at the foot of the bowl, looking down at 3 different fights taking place, and thinking “this is ridiculous”. At a certain point, the dealers friend looks at me and yells, “do you see what you did?? This is all your fault!”. I shrug and just am still in shock this is all over less than a gram of weed.

Cops come, whole thing gets broken up and everyone hates each other. I think I spent two weeks wondering if I caused all of this or not. All these years later I still look back at that day and cringe

So this was a few years ago and I still feel bad about this and heavily regret my actions and behaviour back then. I was a dumb kid and unhappy with myself.

I was in a skatepark with 2 homies. On top of the quarter there sat 3 jock guys without skateboards or any other thing they could use in a skatepark. We skated the hip while these 3 jocks were just sitting there and watching us. Every time some of us bailed or slammed on the hip, these 3 guys laughed. Then my homie took a really hard slam and the 3 guys still laughed. I was mad pissed at them and I generally hate it when there are people in a skatepark that just sit around and watch others. I ollied the hip and "accidentally" let my board shoot out of the quarter where these 3 jocks were sitting. My board hit one of the guys on his head. They complained and were angry but I told them it's their fault for sitting there.

But I still feel bad about that, head injuries are horrible.
