I remember Ben Degros saying in a youtube comment that even the 93 dragons slide better than the 95 nomads.
My x97s work fine on the stickiest sharpest metal ledge at my local, I'd recommend those

Definitely go for the X97! Far superior IMO

I’ve had neither but I’ll tell you that I intend to get the Dragons first. My reasoning is Dragons are newer and therefore more advanced. Another thing is OJ is simply more geared towards cruising whereas Powell/Bones is more about versatile performance.
that would be crazy if your skin was made of hammers.

Never tried Nomads, but Dragons and X97 both slide great. And the rougher the surface the better they slide.

Dragons sound and feel soft, and grab metal, but X97's sound and feel really close to a 99a, don't grab metal, but smooth out crust better than they have any right to. They're FAR better than 99a Spitfires on asphalt and chunky sidewalks.

I like 99a F4's a little bit better than X97's, but I skate 90% smooth skatepark. For Street or crusty park, X97's would work great.

OJ wheels are almost universally terrible. Unless you’re skating their super soft cruiser wheels, I don’t get the appeal at all.

It's funny, the shops all carry their hard wheels but I never see anyone skating them??

And yeah, Superjuice are a totally different thing. They're an absolute riot, just monster trucking through everything...

97x seems good for my little old style skatepark at my village! For the smooth skatepark i really like the spitfire f4 99du. For the Oj's Élite 101a they are better then spitfire 99du at my old skatepark and thanks everhone!!

I’m surprised by all the OJ hate. I haven’t ridden the x97s, but I have a set of nomads on my crust/slippery park board and I like them a lot. They’re fast and grippy but still slide when I need them to.

I rode someone else’s board with the 99a elites the other day and I thought they were pretty good. They felt like SPFs with more grip.

I will agree with the one comment that soft wheels are where OJs really shine. Super Juices fucking rule.

I’m not a fan of the 97a OJs (team riders, Slimeballs…), those ones do feel slow and unresponsive. The nomads are definitely faster and slide better.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I LOVE Dragons on rough asphalt. They're fast and slide well. Haven't tried the X97s, but I don't think I even need to.

This is not true. Their hard wheels are great. I've really liked the Elite Hardline 99s in my transition setup. On slippery plywood transition they can be even better than F4 as they provide a tad more grip, all the while being fast. Dude, Kieran Woolley skates OJ Elites.

Oj's super juices are a great cruiser wheel and their hard wheels are good on more slippery spots and ramps, better than F4s in some ways. I tried the Keyframes and they sucked bad. I dont think they can compete with Bones / Spitfire overall. I would get the X97 over nomads.

For what its worth i like my oj elites but what everyone is saying is true, they are definitely slower and grippier than a corresponding formula four…

Has anyone tried 99x yet? They just dropped in europe and id really like to know how they compare to a formula four

I posted my X99 experience in the Bones x97 thread. IMO they're not a shit ton different than 97. Faster on really smooth surfaces like a skatepark and it depends on what width wheel you're comparing them to, but my V5, which have a 14.5mm riding surface, feel about the same speed as my F4 53mm radials which are almost 20mm riding surface. So, apples to apples if I was comparing them to a F4 with equal riding surface like a Classic they are definitely faster on asphalt. On metal park ledges you do need to make sure its waxed otherwise it still can squeal/slow down but it is nowhere near as drastic as with a Dragon and totally workable.

I rode my friend's Nomads and thought they were no comparison for Dragons even. Terrible wheels.

Yeah the Keyframes are pretty terrible.
