I wear the '92 denim for going out, and Surf Pants for errands when I want comfort. Big Boys are too baggy for me but I also do not want to go back to mid 2000-era fit of jeans. I'm not comfortable showing off my bulge. '93 denim is the perfect fit for  me when I skate, and I haven't had crotch-ripping like I did when I wore Altamont/Emerica Reynolds jeans. However, I probably skate in Theories Lounge Pants the most just because I can get two pairs for the same price as one pair of Polar jeans.

It also depends on what kind of shoes you wear. If you're wearing puffy DC cupsoles, skinny jeans will probably look like shit.

I still use slim jeans especially on day to day life, also because most of the times only slim jeans have stretch/elastane and I can only wear pants with it.

Medium loose pants and I can coexist through whichever way the trend goes. I tend to stay away from slim straight pants tho cause thats what pickle ballers wear when not pickling.

501’s until I’m unable to speak & I’m taking my last breath & glance at those around me. Carhartt WIP Masters are also lovely. Straight fit is what an adult wears. For work, Dockers straight fit. I will say Former makes a nice straight fit. A tad on the looser side but very tailored & glaring quality.

I typically skate in shorts unless it's ridiculously cold and then I run athletic fit chinos from Gap. Otherwise I prefer Levis 541s; best fitting jeans I've ever had. Find them on ebay from time to time and they're better than new for me.

Once upon a time (90s/early 2000s) I would run the 874s or RedKaps to skate either cut-off or regular. I know I had a couple pairs of skinny fit jeans but never thought they looked all that good; just wore them when my wife thought they looked good on me (those days have passed).

i got some dickies 5 pocket work pants from a thrift store. they've got a bar code one em from Mission Cleaning (industrial cleaning place) it's great... but these are the best pants i've owned in years. pretty much straight legged and fit higher on waist than usual for me. They're thicker than any dickies i'd owned in the past, and better material, definitely a high cotton content, but not jeans. 5 pocket pants with a button, not clasp. there's not model # and the only 5 pocket pant i could find was something that's been discontinued called "staydark."

whatever cut pants Bobby Dekyzer wears, is what I try to find. I’m not really sure specifically what pants/jeans he wears, but I do notice he skates in levi jeans sometimes. i guess it’s a dickies 874 type fit.

Straight for going out. slim for work. Baggy for skating, making art, and chilling around the house/ neighborhood.

I do feel like with wide/baggy becoming more mainstream I'm tempted to take the work pants up to a straight fit

Nice and high wasted so you never feel like you gotta hike em up to avoid stretching in the crotch when your squatting to pop. Got a pair of their classic fit cords recently that I enjoy wearing.

Having big quads compared to the average skater makes 'skate pant' selection difficult even more so for non-skate (everything becomes slim or tight) and very few companies offer an athletic fit.

I never did the big pants in the 90s either *shudder*

Can't imagine skating in jeans. The swampass. The chafing. The sweat stains. It's like running in jeans, or playing basketball: two minutes? Why not. Two hours? Yuck.

And yeah, some of the baggy pants are venturing into JNCO territory.

For regular wear I like 501s and such, or athletic cut.

To skate in, give me relaxed fit work pants. Cotton duck or ripstop. Carhartts. Wranglers. Lately my favorite skate pants are an old pair of bdu's.

Not sure about pants, but Levis 551 is a prime fit for thick quads, if you're looking for jeans. They taper fairly straight at the ankle, but nice and loose around knee to upper leg.

550s are my new favorite, but those are definitely relaxed/baggier

Slim, yes. Skinny, no. I feel like slim is just the middle between baggy and skinny so in a way it will never go out of style since the current trend will forever be ping-ponging between the extremes. I'm also old, so I don't feel any need to have the best drip at the skate park whatsoever. I started wearing my golf polos to skate because they wick away sweat better than my cotton skate T's. So, I suppose take my style advice with a grain of salt.

They're slightly slimmer than Dickies, and they're pretty cheap so if I tear the knees, I feel no need to hold on to them.

One rule to live by is that pants have to have stretch in them. "Elastane", "spandex", something in combination with cotton to make normal looking pants more athletic feeling.

Skating in tight, tight, denim 100%-cotton jeans (like Levi's '501 Women's Super Skinny Sky High Waisted Jeans') makes you feel like an armored creature. The way they feel on your legs also makes you adopt a crablike skate style, overly engaging the glutes. It is like a wearable sauna to feel them slowly dry in your AC-less car on the drive home, especially after a session under the hot Texas sun.

Depending on how restrictive they are, they may add stability around your ankles by reducing ankle mobility. They are also more fun to take off when they’re soaking wet with sweat. Sometimes I opt to shower in post-session skinny jeans, so I'll lather up soap on them. Then, I'll grab the belt buckles and pull up while jumping up and down to simultaneously exfoliate my legs and clean the jeans.

When your jeans are skinny as hell, they double as resistance training like those plastic exercise bands. It’s always leg day when you wear skinny jeans out skating.

bought some of those brixton pants with the little cinch waist closing thing. they were straight legged but looked like a box at the bottom. Took a couple inches off and made a nice taper for myself

feel like as long as they taper down at the bottom I dont mind too much

since trends are cyclical I say in maybe another five years or so skinnys will be back

I think about this clip a lot when I wear 501’s. Mine are a tad slimmer than DGar’s but I got TTS & let them loosen over time. Slim strain/straight forever. Levi 501’s & Carhartt WIP Masters for the win on this. I have some former trousers too but sometimes they feel a tad loose. I do like the j crew factory straight pant but those are my work trousers.
