I hope this is more of a capsule return as opposed to a fully fledged brand new team etc, but maybe it could work. their legacy is pretty untouchable at this point. ryde or die volume 1 is one of the best videos of all time.

This is good.
It's gotta be a diverse team tho. The Skating should not be one style. Skating is begging for a change in tricks.

Kento Yoshioka is my skater. He's my #1 pick for all my imaginary blands. If I'm not thinking about pre-y2k MJ.

Tilt fuckin mode let's go to. Get me the wig I got shots to do ....

@Japanese_super_rat that's the guy tho. Watch I been saying it for a abe van winkle nap. Abe went to sleep woke looking like Dill. Bah dum dum.

Kento extremely gifted. I feel like all he needs is a insane video part with a heavy track and forget about it.

I seen him do an original trick on a real heavy big ass block that smashed so hard I'm never ever gonna forget it. Not ever.
He did it cave man too.

I believe he's actually a hidden Uber technician. Like hes a reverse werewolf Shane frickin O'Neal.

Every other full moon or so he's turns human and does everything by berries rules for the afternoon then wakes up behind the ole Rathskeller.

(There's no footage because berries rules)

I bring him vegan burritos and hound him for autographed bass picks

I think he's a rock star. I know FRICKIN know he's a rock star.

I believe he's got no bloard bland. Total wild card throw him on. Adidas got smart and he allowed them to blandish him with gifts.

Why can't people just leave things in the past alone? Has a reboot ever been remotely satisfying? Aesthetics wasn't just a brand but a place in time and the spots used in most of their footage. Just do something new with the same, ahem, aesthetics.

Why don’t they just release the original graphics with the original riders and sell it just for the collectors or the people that want to support. I just don’t think you need a new team and I doubt Sal would think this is a total long term business move. Then once you get to the last board, let it die once again.

He has been on Evisen for a while, as far as I know I think he's still on? They've released a bunch of pro decks. I could be wrong though, apologies if so.

They can do whatever.  Aesthetics was the shit at the time.  Ryde or Die is still one of my favorite vids.  I’m old.

That said there was an episode of WCRP where Clyde and someone talked about bringing brands back, I think they were speaking about the Droors relaunch, which never happened except for that boutiquey run they did.

Anyway they both said leave that stuff in the past.  It had its time it was cool it’s done.  They just said it’s lame to try and do that shit.

Now he’s all on board for this relaunch.

Whatever, just found him contradicting himself about bringing old shit back to be funny.

The Palace x Aesthetics colab from last year - https://www.palaceskateboards.com/palace-aesthetics/

Clyde's t-shirt on the Nine Club looks better to me than any of this stuff.
[close]

That collab is a new level of boring.
the clothing aesthetics put out was usually simple/minimalistic. i had multiple shirts/jerseys that just said "aesthetics" in helvetica with the a logo. the palace collab is completely in line with the stuff aesthetics was putting out in the early 00's.

I must not be that old and jaded yet because I'm stoked on this!  ;)  Next we bring back the A-Team! None of those guys are doing anything anyways. I am really stoked Aesthetics is coming back tho.

He's the opposite of of Evisen and has been for like years. The homepage is currently a photo of him doing what appears to be some wacky wallride hijinks.

https://www.evisenskateboards.com

I've had 2 of his boards, they seem to put like to his graphics on this fun little 8.25 x 31.5 14wb mellow shape that I used to skate. I think palace uses it too.

I trust your memory. I think I am conflating their apparel with their ads. Aesthetics ads were top notch and specific.

Palace tends to make a big thing of their collabs and this one slipped by me.. it is underwhelming to just write “palaesthetics” on everything and call it a day, in my opinion. The brand deserves better homage, but I hope Sal got paid well for it.

Aesthetics had such a tight crew and look and were certainly of a time culturally; heck, Wu Welsh looks like a lumberjack and microbrewery owner from Oregon last I checked and I’m not hip to the younger generation enough to say the return should have a team and who that should be. Just rerelease some oldies and newbies and keep it small.

From Maine, home state of welsh and any kind of aesthetics reboot with him involved would probably be extremely well received here.

I feel like these dudes would be a better fit on the new aesthetics than their current board sponsors:

- John Shanahan
- Nikolai Piombo
- Myquel Haddox
- Brian Peacock
- Tj Rogers
- Tiago Lopes
- Marcello Profeta
- Max Geronzi
- Ginwoo Onodera (wildcard)

all the while keeping Kevin Taylor Rob Welsh, Clyde, and John Igei graphics running until the end of time.

i don't agree with your last 4, but the top 5 plus the original line up would be fucking sick and make a lot of sense to me.

NEED them to run back the Ruff Ryder rip logo tee in heathered charcoal. That was my prize skate merch possession throughout middle school - I was so stoked to appear in it in crowd pics of the 2001 vans triple crown. The summer before high school, I was skating the donut shop parking lot with my homies at 3am, and got too hot to wear it over my “undershirt” (a full, thick white tee, as was the style at the time) so I took it off. I still remember precisely where I left it, but then next day it was gone.

Oh how it haunts me…
