Having a tight back truck helps. It's really hard standing on the board like that with loose ass trucks.

Setting up for the trick feels like hot dogging at this age.

i got nollie first try (used to love it but now i've grown to despise it, easiest hardflip in my opinion)
switch hard 3 tries 5 tries max (fav hardflip)
fakie hard i got in 10 tries but its gonna look sketchy as shit and i will be mobbing it and toe dragging
it's going to be at least 25 tries to get a hardflip from regs and the finished product is not something that should be ever witnessed

hundreds, i can spin the trick but the board never stays anywhere near under me.

I've messed with them a few times but never felt like i was getting closer to a land really.

I'd rather put the energy into learning BS heels as I'm actually vaguely close to those.

Probably first try. I’m a hardflipper. Now switch hardflip is a different story. Probably 1/25 on that one.

I can do what is technically a hardflip in probably 10-15 tries, but I can't pop them hardly at all and the last 25% of it or so kind of just rolls on the ground. I think the ground is what makes them work and I always land back wheels first.

It's so ugly that I just stopped doing them for years before a few months ago when I spent almost a whole day trying to do some good ones. Never got there and I don't really care to do one ever again.

Fun fact. I’ve never attempted a hardflip my whole skating life lol I’ve done variations of frontside and backside flips that have felt hard flippish but never straight up wanted to do a hardflip I’ve seen too many bad things happen with those. Inward heels I’ve accepted as my hardflip.

I tried and landed one this summer. After approx. 60 tries, and it felt like 200 tries because I’m getting old. Actually I’m pretty sure my board kinda bounced on the ground. I also nearly got credit carded a few times.

I’m not good at flipping my board frontside except for shove-its. Varial heels are the same I always struggled. But yeah hardflip holds up to its name for me.

Now I’m at that point where I don’t want to waste my time doing tricks I know will be very ugly or not feel good, I’ll try to find balance between energy / fun / proper landing. That’s what happen in your mid 30s

I was never very good at them but had one day when I was about 19 where I was really on and did one down this long four stair we had at a local high school. Also tre flipped it. That was the only time I've ever done either of those tricks down a gap.

If I had to do a hardflip today I'm sure I could but I have no idea how long it would take. Maybe 10 tries, maybe 50.

To answer the question, it'd take me at least 5,000 tries and years of practice lol. I started skating at 35 and decided to not even bother learning flip tricks. Not worth the wear and tear on my knees at this point.

I was only good at hardflips summer of 2005 and probably stopped doing them by 2007. I mean consistently doing them. I probably did a couple here and there but like fall of 2005 I did one down a 3 stair.

I definitely can still do one but it would take a while. Give me all day and I’ll do a couple.

I had 20 tries on the last sess but didn't land a shit and decided to not waste more energy on that. Next time will try 20 more I hate this trick coz there was a time when i got it and when i stopped doing it i lost it and nowi have to battle super hard till i land something. my synchronization of the legs is not good, i either to the 180 without a flip, or do the fliip but dont lift my back foot and step only with the forward one...
