So if you’re from New York, you just have the right to be angry and mean to everyone?

 :'(

I wish I was from New York. I’m from stupid Fremont and all I get is cheap bahn mi and Costco hot dogs.

I was bummed to read that Munchner Haus closed.

That was amazing! Would gnar!

My favorite quote from that was Bobby on the Magenta logo:

"Vivien: Josh something that must be done is a Bobby Puleo quote book. You know the last time he saw Soy he asked him: “What are you up to, drawing leafs?” (Laughs)"

Im from Australia so my opinion here probably doesn’t mean much, but between this clown and Ricky O it really does seem like skaters of that generation from the east coast really have a chip on their shoulders.

Those two are both from New Jersey, that’s the common thread.

It’s the most densely populated state and some (not all) people from there have a real “crabs in a bucket” mentality in their interactions with other people.  Being possisive over something they see as making them unique, say a city they moved to, or a low impact skate style, is almost reflexive to them.  Theres a perceived scarcity of resources (in this case cellar doors) and their not going let someone else have them.

So, Magenta dudes were coming out to NY to get photos/clips of Bobby to run articles back in France/EU without Bobby knowledge, credit, pay...

"We would come to New York, film his ass, shoot photos, have shit come out in European magazines, you know whole articles about Bobby, and then he would talk shit on the internet. He’d be like: “Why the fuck are you coming over?” To film your fucking ass dude! Ha!"

And then Magenta ran clips in their video knowing full well that it would upset Bobby and knowing he wouldn't have agreed to his clips being used...

"Vivien: I was like: “No! Don’t do it.” Because I had stayed in New York for a month and I knew we’d be in trouble if we used that shit. But Soy was like: “Fuck it! You skated with the dude and it’s like what it is you know.”
Josh: So Bobby of course would have said “No”.

And then, as predicated, Bobby got really hysterically upset with Magenta dudes, and then Magenta/Josh were in NYC at some nice restaurant, and then Bobby confronts them ranting at how upset and angry he is, and Bobby's former friends all just tease him for being an angry mess...

"No shower or nothing holding on to plastic bags?” It was like some full-on street bum freaking out on you"

Yeah, hilarious. No mental health issues going on here. Nice.

When I said "hilarious" I was referring only to what I quoted which sounded like Bobby bantering with Soy - "You know the last time he saw Soy he asked him: “What are you up to, drawing leafs?” (Laughs)"

Just cause I think Bobby's turn of phrase is funny in that sentence, doesn't mean I condone people using clips of other's without checking with them. Which I agree of course is even worse knowing it will bother them. Or that I think it's funny if someone has difficulty navigating interpersonal grievances.

Oh calm down. First of all there's nothing above to indicate that they were running articles without Bobby knowing or that there was no pay/credit, whatever.

Second of all, I think there's a general agreement that if you let someone film you or shoot photos of you the footage or the photos are going to get used somewhere.

Third of all, you're jumping to conclusions with the mental health issues line. Maybe the dude is just an asshole.

Vivien is a smart dude with a sense of humour, he loved that shit, and you know Bob did too: he gets to have his clips in the cool euro vid and still maintain his hardass cred. What would an era be without some stories?

They shoulda made a Magenta guest board with a graphic of Bobby greeting Soy with a speech bubble “What are you up to, drawing leafs?”.
