Hey everyone. My name is Dave and I am 34 years old.

I just bought my first skateboard and have been practicing, I was traumatized yesterday after my first fall and it was really hard too. So I will have to wait to buy paddings, I already have a helmet from a buddy of mine.

This picture is before I used my skateboard of course, bought it from Sierra for 29.95 before taxes. I just went to Zumiez the other day to buy Bones Reds bearings because my friend suggested it.

Well I bought the board from Sierra and it came with pre-installed wheels and truck. I've also been doing a lot of research on Google and watching YouTube videos. My board is a 8.25 and I made sure the trucks were too. I am planning to give the deck to my friend since he needs it a lot, then keeping the truck with the bearings and wheels and buying a new board. I saw one from DGK that I like a lot so I might buy that after I get my pads.

That’s a good idea.

Make sure to slap a Thrasher sticker on your helmet to let people know you’re down.

Instant street cred right there.

Also, some friendly advice, if you don’t get some nose, tail, and board slide marks on the deck, people will know you’re a noob, and you don’t want that. So make sure to rub the deck several times on a concrete ledge to really get some fresh looking marks.

A while back when I was more active on reddit I was popping in there to see if I could give any advice or knowledge to newer skaters. Horrible decision. People are hyper sensitive to anything that isn’t overtly positive feedback. Misinformation runs rampant. It’s like lord of the flies. Do not recommend.
