Blast skates

Scented boards, starter setups for little kids. Snelling, Broyd, Koppl and Perez.  Amador rips.
Such a good company.

i love Blast. i love the team. i love the art. its all perfect.
i just can't find a shape that really works for me from them. the snelling is the best i had from them. but i pretty much stopped skating transition. and dont really wanna ride that for street.

the 9.5 looks perfect. allways great graphics, and maybe one of the most visually pleasing shapes out there. but the nose got too much flat and i just cant get used to that.

got my finger on the trigger for a scented banana deck for a long time now. but kinda selfishly waiting for them to hopefully go on sale.

I’m going to add Nasir Roumou. Kids got a rad style and a great bag of tricks.

Really like blast as a brand and the team. But their boards being made by quarter distribution means they are china boards, right?

Yes they’re. Unknown which woodshop. Was sponsored by inpeddo (one of the quarter dist brands) and after they changed to the current woodshop I quit because the boards were unskateble, way too steep nose and tail, at least for me.

Thanks for the insight. How was the wood in general. Don’t have too much problems with steep noses and tails

Wood is good. No complains here. Like most Chinese decks they are super stiff. And they have a shape guide for almost all their brands.

Much appreciated. I feared they

I think these are better than gnosis decks. Those chipped real easy and pressure cracked like crazy.
But theyre definitly stiff. reminded me of my New Deal that was china too

Also the Blast boards use a different mold than other quarter decks. But maybe only the shaped decks and not the popsicles.

insane to see they got 10 pounds (roughly 12 euro) shipping to US now. but european shipping is still 15 euro.

i love what theyre doing and all, but i need me some good shipping deals too. had to pay 30 euros when i ordered 2 boards last year. that was just unfair.

crosspost from the big boards thread.

last month when i was in Japan i got 9.75 Blast Skates/Golden Age collab deck (Ben Broyd shape).
it's a fun board. but the nose really is too short and pointy for my comfort. noseslides are super hard on it for me. crooks work completely fine, but feel scarier to me. still waiting for a bigger Blast board that has a full nose. they havnt done one since they switched their manufacturing.
can't commit to Blast fully as long as they dont have real noses.

rail is bent cause it got ripped out and i had to re-screw half of it on the spot.
ignore the griptape art, didnt have scissors. top pic is to show off the shape better.

Blast Skates 9.75
Ace classic 55
52mm 101a Spitfire conicals
1/8th risers
bones rails (shortened to 13.5")

It’s one of the most comfortable big boards I’ve ever skated but I had the exact same problem- needs more nose. E

Ok

looks like a slightly fatter bryce kanights board i had. i did some stupid tiny little ollie late grab judo (this wasn’t cool i was in maybe 5th grade), and i broke the tail off. my dad glued it back on which was pretty sick. it worked for awhile. i’m sure i was a punk about it, but he was trying to show me some resourcefulness, and the notion that you cannot buy a good time.
still haven’t learned

god damn now i actually wanna buy a Rubble Wrecker. it looks so fun. but i know i dont need a big ass, snub nose deck as it hurts my skating.
maybe i will set it up with some big wheels as a semi cruiser for less serious skating. especially as i will need to get used to rolling again when my ankle is healed anyway.

Blast skates is pretty sick. Their shapes are cool and some of their riders I think are very creative but the graphics are kinda meh. And Nasir roumou is very sick but not on their team anymore sadly
