Speed ramps pros/cons

Not sure if this is only in my bubble but speed ramps seem a controversial topic. Personally I've always thought they're great when helping to really accentuate a trick but become annoying when overused. I guess the question is what constitutes overusage. Also people need to know how to do them well. Nothing worse than a badly beziered keyframe.

Off topic (kinda) : But does anyone know how to Speed ramp with (audio still attached) in Adobe Premiere? Usually when I speed ramp in Adobe Premiere it does the effect very nice but the audio gets left out of sync. Hope I'm making sense. If anyone knows the solution to this please let me know! Or if anyone know some step-by-step tutorial on youtube that teaches how to get the effect done .... share the link! Thank you !!

Speed ramps went out of style what 10 years ago?  It’s been replaced with straight 25% and 50% straight time remapping that looks super choppy a la Bill Strobeck or just clean slow motion from 120fps footage.

I always used after effects for ramp slow motion.  It’s one of the easier things in AE.  It’s pretty easy to use after effects within premiere these days too.  Look into a YouTube tutorial, they’re out there.

You can do it in premiere? I've been on cs5.5 for years. Comp took a shit and torrented the newest CS.

I would do it every once and again. I couldn't really get them to look ty evans good. And they would take me an hour to try and get them right. Hit the clip with 50% and call it a day.

you know how light travels faster than sound? slow down your strobeck'd angle and it'll look out of sync
