Anyone ever bought off of skatesamples from Europe?
« on: July 03, 2024, 01:50:04 PM »
Can anybody tell me if it's fine to order from this website if I live in Europe? My concerns are custom fees (if there are any) and long shipping time. Thanks yo!

Bougth 2 gfbs last year. Shipping was 74,90 to germany Ending up at 122,85 in total. I purposely stayed below 150 becaus of customs. Can't get the shape anywhere else and at ~60 per deck it is still cheaper than most standard popsicles in germany.
I guess for me this made sense with this shape for a standard popsicle idk. Might order 5 or 10 pack in the next days since i love that shape and i fear it getting discontinued...

Re: Everything B L A N K s thread

The most annoying thing with that is they didn't actually have the work BLANK in there, so it never comes up in a search.

Re skatesamples.com - at least hearing about even one other EU person who has ordered, should give you a little more info / confidence in placing an order, but as per everything "It is all in the details" so check with your own country as to customs, taxes or anything else for imports, as they can hit you pretty hard with things like that.

I see quite a number of boards in the setup thread, but I think almost all, or very close to it, are all USA based so they get a much better option with shipping within country, rather than anywhere else in the world.

I was interested a while ago but then calculated including shipping and potentially taxes and decided against it.

You could test out the quarter distribution “superply” blanks. It’s what inpeddo, Blast, poetic collective, über, Brodega, and others are made from.

https://firstskateshop.com/en-eu/collections/superply

They’re like 40€ a deck.

What's the point with the import to Europe and tax charges.

Palace decks 45e each on Junkyard right now. Works out cheaper and the wood is a1

I guess some people are more interested in specific shapes and concaves, or even specific woodshops, over a cheaper board in a shape or from a woodshop they don't like.

Definitely understand that, so it is all down to personal preference, only one woodshop I really like riding, compared to everything else out there on the market, so for anyone who is able to get cheaper boards in whatever wood they like, I could say they are the lucky ones.

Even finding a specific shape that works for them, I have paid a lot more in the past just to be able to get that board, more so than making do with something else I could get for cheaper.
