She's a good skater but I don't really "get" Bryce's persona, much less the choices that went into her being a flagship pro for Stereo. No diss on her, just a weird move ??
[close]
Watch any competition she’s in, the announcers will compare her style to jazz. Every fucking time.
Probably because Pastras is usually one of the announcers?

Just saw the actual post and they request you to submit your resume via a Gmail account. If that isnt the biggest red flag I don’t know what is.

J.Lee uses the company as a tax write off and Pastras is clearly too clueless to run a brand.

TV skateboarding announcing relies on cliches and catchphrases way more than actually critiquing the skating.

Tempted to agree just because of Matt Rodriguez’s part in tincan. Back 180 switch front 180 off the front wheels  :o

This first montage is one of the most underrated in my opinion. Love the Serge Gainsbourg soundtrack.

Nothing weird about a small business using Gmail. This is stereo not… bravo sports

Bryce deserved better. Stereos been stagnant for to long. They need a full scale revamp.

they should stick to their roots with their graphics and then get a team that skate like they did in a visual sound. then perhaps the brand could be relevant again.

and if you haven't watched, please do. it's a skateboard classic.

Greg Hunt does a line on a scooter in this video. Amazing.
Hopefully not a kook, but if so, fuck it.

Still not giving up the fight against FM radio, AM radio hires creative director to appeal to today’s youth.

Well. It’s the end of a Monday and they dissed me out gs. I really thought I could help stereo out cuz I liked jazz music like Sunday or some shit but then I listen to like a whole Sunday album and it bummed me ou then just ti make sure I was t acting like a fucking crazy I  listen to jazz music for a whole day and I got bored and I was thinking maybe stereo not king maybe the brand dead. I mean Clint Peterson is in the team. He sucks. When I partied. I would leave if he showed up. I wasn’t really picky about who I wanted to part with at the time. I was living in LA and I was a drug dealer so I dunno. Stereo riders never had that money and always just tried to kick it.

Did you ever read Mike Daher's Chrome Ball interview where he talks about his older brother George, who was on the OG bLind team and was the originator of the term "focus"?

I haven't. I'm so behind on CBI interviews. Sounds like a dope read. I loved his ‘94 Transworld interview.

I was always a fan. They lost their way over the last decade or so but maintained a good aesthetic, outside of their mall boards.
My favorite board I ever had was the Jason Lee retirement board, cowboy riding into the sunset. It’s the one board I’d spend stupid money on to have again. It’s kinda hard to even find a pic online…or I’m just stupid.

Ian Johnson from Western Edition would be the best person to take over this brand art wise but why would he do that unless he got paid a ton which I doubt Stereo is doing.

Anyways.....support Western Edition instead.

whole soundtrack is superb 👌 good french 60's

PS: video nerd fact. If you like the last song (by Jaqueline Taïeb) every Magenta full lenght (and other stuff too) has a song from her if i'm not mistaken

I hear this a lot actually. The reality is that both are pretty neck and neck. Top of the food chain too. Myself. My favorite was Hitting the Streets with Rupert Safkin.

That's a peak year for me I think. I'm not sure the year. Maybe they could do a costume series? I'd love to see that shit.

I really like how loose Tincan Folklore is and while A Visual Sound's soundtrack (mainly Ululation, a jazz group from 1987 featuring Pastras' father) is a perfect aesthetic fit, I think the ecclectic music in the former is a lot more exciting. However, it loses points for not featuring Mike Daher, Bobby Puelo, and Ryan Hickey. It's especially odd that Daher wasn't in it; full-on Mandela Effect as I imagined many years later that he had a part.

I remember being a kid and getting hyped thinking a Neville Sandzabar was an actual new Stereo rider before I saw the video.

Imagine western edition backed with Jason Lee’s disposable income
