….skating faster

Ok, so I know the straightforward answer is “don’t be a bitch”, but without fail when I try and start doing tricks while moving faster, I always involuntarily abort or miss the pop or tense up, or whatever. I was trying to do longer and longer grinds on a skatepark ledge, that I knew was sliding and grinding well, but I would get to a point where it was damn near impossible to make myself pop into the trick. I don’t think I’m scared of the slam, but I hit a hard mental wall and it was pissing me off.

Do you guys have any tips to do tricks faster/commit to doing faster grinds and slides. I’m not trying to be Casper Brooker or anything, but I’m tired of watching my clips and being annoyed at skating snail speed

Get use to going faster than you ever would. it slows down the speeds before it

Hills and snowboarding helps. Longer slides and grinds has a lot to do with technique

What's the fastest you've ollied a flat gap?

Just start by taking 1 more push than you normally do. You’re not going much faster so it’s less if a mental block.
Then after doing that for a bit(don’t know how long it takes for you to get comfortable so…)add another until you’re going as fast as you wanted.

Probably most effective was at one point deciding I just want my tricks to look good. If I’m working on a trick I try to land it. If I land it, I keep doing it until it’s easy. And then I keep doing it until it looks good- no tic tacs, no flailing arms, no slowing down a ton on the roll away. Just keep repeating it, even if you look like a weirdo to your friends. The easier you feel like a trick is the faster you can go.

Im older and lazier and skate less than before and do my tricks pretty slow but i still try to push as fast as i can. The more u are used to skating fast, the easier the tricks become. Pick a trick, or rather, find a trick that you can do while goijg as fast as you can. For me its a simple pop shove it. Its easier for me to go fast and blast it than slow
