Nothing hilarious about circulating nude photos of someone without their consent. That's a serious crime. Not only should he have been dropped by his Black box and Volcom but also legal action should have been taken. Say what you will about Cody but this took a serious toll on his mental health (and career). People have resorted to extreme self-harm over less. For Dane to then publicly brag about the whole thing on no one and Erica's show is appalling. I think this incident deserves revisiting.

I don't care about Zero as a brand but there's a handful of riders that are sick that I don't think would find new board sponsors should they shut down. Reggie, Burleigh, Kanaan, Wimer, etc

Based on everything we have seen so far, I think what's happening is that Jamie, Nine Club, and almost everyone in the industry is of the mindset that they believe the accusations but want to expedite their forgiveness.

They seem to think that the accusations are punishment enough. "Poor bro is tainted now. Less sponsors will fuck with him. What do else do you want us to do? TALK about it?" YES. Talking about things brings things into the light where solutions can be found to prevent this stuff more, help victims heal, and to let us "fans" know that you are handling it in a way that we can also move forward with knowing whether to support your company or not.

Anything but sweeping things under the rug by not talking about it.  If you won't talk about it publicly, then start by engaging with SLAP. JT got ripped a new one for only coming to SLAP but I think it was a lot better than the nothing burger everyone else is doing.  It won't be a permanent solution but we need to move the needle on this.

I think he can handle hardship given his upbringing and overcoming what he has. The harsh reality is that people who have any clout like him will spend 99.9% of their day thinking about how to cash in on their name and connections. The other .1% is at most split in half between caring what people who can't make them money think and spending time with their family.

i was looking for that screen shot for a while. Don't hate me for bumping this as a reminder that Dane's fucked behavior it isn't just limited to the alleged 14 yr old girl snaps. other stories within this thread about him, that, if true, really suck. Weird that its all just a "coincidence" and "made up," but only about one dude? there are plenty of disliked people in skateboarding who don't have multiple stories related to sexual deviance and crime "made up" about them.

i know there are statistics about how low/skewed false claims of rape and abuse are but i wonder if there are stats on people simply "making up" false allegations. one could be dismissable. when you add in multiple accounts and ten his admission to the cody thing it just gets sketchy. where there's smoke theres fire i guess is what im saying.
