Post title. What shoes have board feel and flick like half cabs but aren’t half cabs? Looking to expand my shoe knowledge base and skate something different for a change

Probably not a similar shoe at all really, but a number of people who like Half Cabs also wear the Blazer Mid shoe a lot.

I have tried them on, but never owned them.  For me Nike seem thinner and less padded, but a lot of people like the Blazer shoe in general, the GT low in particular for a more tech low shoe and the Blazer Mid for a slightly more padded or taller shoe, but not as bulky as Dunk Hi or some other shoes on the market.

The Rowan 1 definitely felt like a similar shoe but I really don't see a lot of other shoes that have similar feeling with a padded ankle collar or good uppers in a mid shoe that holds up in the toe area, so it might be a bit of a funny one if you like Half Cabs, you might have to stick to Half Cabs.

One other option that does come to mind is the Sk8 Mid shoe, as that has worked well for me, or even cutting down a Sk8 Hi, which I did recently just to see and was happy with how they turned out.  Not so good if you don't want to have to modify your shoes like that and I could see people cutting them wrong and the top coming apart if you are not careful.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

The Leo react, for me when I put the shoe on, I was like, oh, I get it, these are cabs, but with a modern Nike reskin

Same, but I’m pretty sure they’d be the closest

interesting, some people I asked who got the reboot told me they thought ipaths were way more like dunks. I got a pair of new balance 480s so probably after I skate those i'll give some ipaths a try, hopefully when they're on sale

been rocking some half cabs for a solid month, they've done me good. they feel almost like a less padded slimmer version of half cabs.

Did you mean Blazer or something else?

Sounded like it, but you said been rocking Half Cabs, so it is a little confusing.
