Republicans have retained control of the House. This my friends is going to be an absolute shit-show for four very long years

Not four years.

Look at Trump's tax plan. Went from 2018-2025.

He's even looking at another 2-3 SCOTUS judges.

Brace yourself for a fucked up 20 years. Or more.

Prop 36 being passed in CA is also a factor for prison stock as it reforms theft laws under $950.

I wonder what kind of pillows the prisons will order in large volumes.

Why, MYPILLOW.COM of course!

Don't forget, for the sake of efficiency, every government vehicle will be replaced with a Cybertruck.

But weirdly at the same time they’re trying to harm EV legislation and production
[close]

Yes. But I feel like with Elon in his cabinet position, EV legislation and production will affect every other EV manufacturer out there but Tesla.

Kind of efficient when it comes to competition, right?

Musk already cried to get Biden to block BYD from being able to import to the US.

I'd bet his big changes are ones that get him out of the federal lawsuits currently against SpaceX and his other companies. From SpaceX's pollution near the border to Musk's lawsuits about treating workers like shit, he's going to find a way to make them disappear.

I think I posted my climate change consapiracy here a few years back.  And while I don’t believe in conspiracy theories, just about everything I speculated has come to pass.

post it again, i'm curious.  i'm usually not someone who frets about the Bilderberg Group or any high powered moneyed cabal...but something might have flipped in me when I was doomscrolling the day after the election

i really dont believe in conspiracy theories, but...

sure.  it basically boils down to climate change denial on the right being a ruse.  they know, and have known, how fucked we are going to be for a long time now.  the world's major nations have been consolidating power for years now in preparation for an impending global upheaval.  Russia will try to take Europe and China/North korea will take Asia, Israel or Iran will take the middle east, etc. The "global north" will have to subjugate the "global south" to maintain a semblance of our quality of life while we force them to live in poverty, force them to abide by industrial emission standards, forced labor, etc.

The US is stuck in the middle.  Dems have been sticking their finger in the dam so to speak...trying to delay the inevitable.  propping up Ukraine to slow Russia's expansion into Europe, funding Israel to put a bandaid on the middle east.  The right's position is to ally with Russia/China to subjugate the rest of the world.  The only way to get this done is through authoritarian fascism.  Trump has been designated as the face of this, but isn't the real driving force behind it all.  This has all been decreed by the billionaire class. Trump is a convenient demagogue that can get all of this done. In the end We'll all be sacrificed before they give up an inch of their current way of life.

Covid plays into this (trial run for authoritarian rule).  abortion bans/trad family values play into this(new stock of soldiers to die in global war in 20 years).  Our leaders are basically following the Nazi playbook word for word, and I feel like a we're being set up for a domestic genocidal purge of undesirables that will hinder this progress.  Im predicting that the current admin will call a constitutional convention to enshrine fascism in our laws forever.

theres more to it, but thats the basic just of it.  the climate change thing can be interchanged with basic late stage capitalism, but i think the results would be the same.  I think someone will launch a nuke in the near future and all the masks will come off

Lmao, no.  Pandemics are inevitable.  But they learned a lot from the response, and this will inform how they implement authoritarian rule.  I think some type of martial law/suspension of the constitution will take place

RFK Jr. officially in charge of the HHS.

Watch him tell Trump to repeal funding from schools with vaccine mandates. Then watch anti-vaxxers wonder why their kids are getting measles, whooping cough, and polio when they didn't get it as a kid.

He is not.   He has been nominated.  You may say it’s a technicality, but i think it’s good to be accurate

I stand corrected. I assumed the HHS was low enough where it didn't warrant review unlike AG or Sec of State and such.

What's interesting about this debacle of Trump's second term is in both instances 2016 & 2024  he was up against a woman candidate. Not that I have any issues with the fairer gender, just seems to me the residents of this country for sure are showing their sexist views through voting for this chump. We're in for an absolute shit show from cabinet members fired/leaving etc... If it we're up to Tdumpf he'd have another night of the long knives upon migrants and others he deemed unworthy. What makes me and my wife upset is the fact that everyone is going to feel the squeeze of his pudgy little hands.

Trump has been a useful Russian idiot, the evidence is there, which makes sense.  Seems to me and I'm not the only one who sees this, he's been compromised since 1977.

I guess believing a serial liar wasn’t the best way to go about it. Just wait till the Muslim ban and deportations begin. Shits going to get much worse.

For those who compared tRump to Hitler and said they’re taking their playbook word for word, you’re close, but not right. The nazis built their infrastructure and tried to better the lives of the(aryan) population. tRump isn’t going to do that since he only cares about himself and what he gets.
The MAGA movement is doomed to canibalize itself. There’s no way for it to sustain itself long term. Unfortunately it’s not going to be anytime soon though.

You’re always going to find examples of that in any election, I dont think those cases are necessarily significant.  Yes some elections are very close, but the ideas behind normalizing fascism are a cancer that wont stop growing until something catastrophic happens.

This was coming sooner or later.  Capitalism was never going to admit its own failure, it was always destined to lash out violently as it dies.  If it wouldn’t have been Trump this time, it would have been someone else in 4 years, or one of his kids.

There is a global trend towards authoritarianism, not just here.  Billionaires see the writing on the wall and they’re not giving up what they have, so we’re all going to have to suffer.

These past few years I’ve been entertaining the idea of a global hive mind sensing impending danger, and contracting in anticipation of it.  The internet is certainly an artificial version of this.  The benevolent intentions of the early days of the internet are over, it’s going to be used as a means of control and propaganda from here on out.

Pretty apprehensive about what’s to come.

One party validated how people felt.   Our economy is doing great, but it’s doing great in areas that might not be seen in the price of eggs, etc and the Dems couldn’t figure out to campaign on that.

Dems are seen as establishment and for a lot of people government isn’t working for them so they’ve turned to an authoritarian because that in theory will make things work

Bernie said something similar in a interview.

I think the framing needed to be "It has been really hard bringing inflation down, it has been hard for many of us, and its hard on young people. A lot of the hard part is done, we need to stay the course and watch good manufacturing jobs open up via Build Back Better, see the benefits of all the new/refurbished infrastructure, and lower interest rates that could only come with our stewardship over the nation."

Acknowledge the hard part was hard, but promise the pay off is here. Would everyone believe it? Who knows, but I think more would believe than citing good economic indicators. "The economy" is not individual wealth or well-being. The 90s had a great economy and generated a ton of shit jobs that don't pay shit.

It's not even worth discussing anymore.  They'll always take the short trip to bullshit & flood the world with shit and useless arguments & leads to bank on the left doing due diligence to disprove mindless insanity which keeps them fighting and occupied.  The people want an easy answer, even if it's a lie.  It's a race to the bottom and we're nearly there.
