EO expanding gtmo (usa's favorite blacksite) to "full capacity" for detaining migrants.

https://www.politico.com/news/2025/01/29/trump-sign-order-prepare-guantanamo-bay-undocumented-immigrants-00201325

At this point I'm pretty convinced that authoritarianism is the answer for Fermi's paradox.

The fed agency I work at just sent an email that all of the training courses for EEO, Diversity, Whistleblower, Antidiscrimination, Harassment Prevention, etc, have been cancelled from the training portal.

One more step in making people ignorant and prejudiced

Let's think about the positives. tRump signed an EO for the declassification of the JFK, MLK, and RFK files. Surely, he will declassify the Epstein files, right?

lol

This may sound absurd but I honestly think all these rich scumbags know this country is headed into the shitter and they’re milking all the money for themselves and he’s trying to incite riots. I refuse to believe he did that not knowing it’ll stir the pot some more. I think they want us all to rebel against them so they can further destroy us and reap all the money.

Plane crash in DC that just happens to collide with an army chopper… I bet there was someone on that flight that knew too much about something damaging to the current administration.

Reporter: Mr. President, how exactly was DEI responsible for the crash in DC?

Trump: What kind of helicopter was involved in the crash?

Reporter: DoD says it was a Black Hawk

Trump: There! If it was a White Hawk, there wouldn’t had been a crash.

Holy hell, dude really is asking all federal workers to resign. This is getting dark in an extremely quick fashion.

So about this, there was a social media post offering if people resigned they’d get 3 months pay with no need to work correct? Does anyone actually believe that if they quit over a non official announcement that they’d REALLY get paid by the 2 worst offenders of ripping off their employees and contractors?

Yeah, muSk and tRump are totally going to make good on that…

As for Gitmo, muSk needs that forced labor to keep his costs down for his business. Why not use those ‘terrorists’ opps, I mean non whites. Don’t forget homelessness is going to be a crime soon and with tanking the economy, well, FREE LABOR!!!
God bless capitalism. Right?

It was 8 months, but the whole thing looks super fishy.

The email also includes lots of veiled threats to your job if you stay.  I think their next move is to go after the Fed union, then mass firing. Not sure what they’ll do to try to justify that as Fed jobs are protected after your probationary period, but we’ll see

They’re also having facillty cops go to the various departments looking for “DEI materials” and are encouraging employees to snitch on each other.  Seems like employees are banding together, so should be interesting to see what happens

Also, heard the language used in the email was similar to near identical to the email sent out to Twitter employees after the buyout.

No illegal immigrants contributing to the economy means they are not contributing at all tax-wise. You can expect the food, hospitality, farming, and construction industries to grind to a complete halt. Surely that will help the economy.

I'm cleaning out/refreshing my water stores to have enough for at least 2 months. Hopefully, the guardrails in place will keep things going. There is no way in hell I am starting a 401k right now. That is for damn sure.
[close]

this is factually incorrect. undocumented work results in payroll taxes being contributed by the employer. undocumented workers cannot get the refund other workers get, so the government keeps more, and undocumented workers can’t access the benefits the taxes pay for, so the government keeps even more.

https://calbudgetcenter.org/news/new-study-undocumented-immigrants-contribute-8-5-billion-in-california-taxes-a-year/

I believe you are reading this as if there is a comma after "No", when I think it's meant as:
{no contributions from illegal immigrants to the economy} will result in {no more tax money from them to support food, hospitality, etc.}

that makes sense. thanks for pointing this out. grammar is wild like that.

.

Read the same. Also, apparently there were unvetted servers plugged in at federal facilities to contact federal employees directly? Something about gathering emails addresses of federal employees...

Why didn’t the dems run ads where it looks like a trump ad but all the policies were from hitler that they reveal at the end. Or vice versa, some black and white ad about the nazis but it’s all stuff trump is doing. Good way to possibly illustrate it to people who don’t care

I’m definitely not but I’m a little surprised it seems there is no one here riding trumps dick.

I would imagine there are a relatively low number of trump supporters interested in a textbased, dialogue-heavy medium like a messageboard. He's an influencer, not a politician. His currency is emotive, kneejerk reactions, and his discourse is too inconsistent to really warrant analysis or discussion, I would even say it intentionally discourages these things.

I know a few redpill types, and all they do is post memes. The occasional time I've engaged them in conversation, they basically state their outrage and allegiance, then go silent.

I feel like anyone coming into this thread pro-trump would just throw a few insults, gloat a bit, and that's it. What else is there for them to say really.

Not sure if you’re being facetious but I’ll answer earnestly regardless. I think this was actually a huge misstep by the democrats in this most recent campaign - they spent too much time drawing the Trump Hitler parallels, calling him a fascist, a threat to democracy, etc. This hurt them in two major ways:

- Took their messaging away from what they were doing to help the average American (not much, but still slightly more than republicans) and made every dem talking point “Trump bad”. People are clearly sick of lesser of two evil voting, so if the only message you hear from one party is “yeah but the other guy”, you’re not gonna feel super inspired to go vote for them and tell your friends.

-Maybe more important, made them look disingenuous. If he’s really a threat to democracy, why aren’t the Dems treating him as such? Why stick so strongly to decorum and not just arrest the guy or eliminate any pathway for him to come back? Why debate him? Why talk about who’s running in 2028 if you don’t think there will be one if Trump gets elected? People saw him get elected once, heard all the comparisons to Hitler before, and then the democrats won and didn’t do anything about Trump for four years, so it makes them look like they’re just saying this shit instead of actually believing it.

I say this as someone who held my nose and voted D, but goddamn the democrats ate shit with their messaging in 2016, 2020, and 2024.

My work (CA judicial branch) released some directive to not comply with warrantless searches from federal agents. Otherwise, the CA Supreme Court has been mostly conservative until recently and only complied with the bare minimum of the governor's DEI initiative. The only thing they can really do to us is storm the building and ask for our papers (which I assume will happen eventually).
