was in manhattan last night shooting photos of people protesting. it got a bit messy as soon as they left the blubba /courthouse area. mostly peaceful people, but there were a few instigators on both sides, cops certainly were aggressive though, watched multiple people get arrested right infront of me.

if youre the type to participate in protests, just be sure to keep your eyes open, be smart, peaceful, and please be careful.

Some levity from a joke I read online:

How many maga supporters does it take to change a lightbulb?

None, tRump tells them the light is fixed and they sit in the dark cheering.

The operative words in that headline are "walmart-promotes-nationwide-anti-trump-protests" , and I've never heard anything remotely close to that until now, days after he publicly criticized them. Sure, it could be an entirely editorial decision to spin it that way, but the fact remains that it makes it look like walmart has some problem with the way the current political regime is doing things, when 22 million dollars says otherwise. Regardless, the money of the woman in the article (and apparently paying for the ad) was made on the backs of labourers whose living and working conditions bear more resemblance to medieval peasants than they do to american standards, so her attempt to foment outrage among the little people for their place in the hierarchy seems oretty rich (pun intended) as she looks down from the castle keep.

*full disclosure, I played in a band in high school called fuck walmart, and i named it. I knew it was a shitty name even then.

Total editorial decision to do that, but the article kinda is more about a growing group of dissatisfied billionaires

I’ll be at the other end of the state doing the same. With you guys in solidarity.

Oh, per Wall Street Journal:

SAN FRANCISCO—A federal judge ruled Thursday that President Trump illegally federalized the California National Guard in response to the Los Angeles protests and ordered that the force be returned to the control of Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom.
Trump failed to follow the process Congress set forth to bring the Guard, which normally is an arm of the state government, under federal control, U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer said in a 36-page order issued just hours after a hearing on the dispute.
Trump’s “actions were illegal—both exceeding the scope of his statutory authority and violating the Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution,” Breyer wrote. “He must therefore return control of the California National Guard to the Governor of the State of California forthwith.”

As a resident of FL, I was happy to see how big some of the crowds were here for the No Kings protest. We had a solid turnout here at the capital.

Protestors in Detroit and Canada (specifically Windsor) united against Trump across the Detroit River with bullhorns the other day. Detroiters chanting “can-a-da” and the Canadians chanting back “U-S-A.”

Orange Chicken really got butt hurt over no one being at his military parade where he signed an EO stating that the VA can deny Democrats and unmarried men treatment.

Yea, he's going full fascist with this move to hurt left leaning military veterans.

It was awesome to see all the protestors on Saturday. Even in this Maga leaning town there were at least 100 people out. Also someone at the local skatepark seems to be triggered by the anti-maga stickers I've been putting up since they've taken them down every time.

Was glad to see a bunch of brothers/sisters in black out for the one here. Really had no idea how many of us there were in this city until I saw the iykyk colors for that day.
Was really expecting something to happen since there were a ton of online threats(vroom/bang/pew images/posts) nothing materialized though. Shockingly, there were even young farmers out in support. Slaps made for this one:

No I know, hard to articulate but it’s weird that it was shocking to see them.   With all the aggressions taken against them and rural communities, you’d think they’d be at the front of the line in protest

I went to the No Kings protest in Heber City, Utah. There were about 200 people on both sides of Main Street/US 40 holding signs encouraging the drivers passing by to honk. I lived in NYC before and marched in the streets there, and people were marching through Salt Lake later in the day, but Heber and Park City both held stationary events along roadways. There was something about all these people standing with signs seeking the approval of drivers passing that maybe speaks to a depressing, perhaps particularly American deference to automobiles, but semi drivers were honking support as well as seemingly half of passing vehicles. I don't know that many people around here yet, so felt good seeing good people in a "red" state.

Makes it so incredibly obvious the election was rigged when there are that many people protesting him across the country and his bullshit event only drew about 10k people.

I actually tried going that day but when I got there it was over. I later found out my nearest city only allowed it for two hours. I’m sorry but what the hell is the point of a protest if your local government dictates the hours. That totally defeats the point of this IMO.

I don’t think anything was rigged.  People wanted change, they didn’t necessarily want trump.   Anti-incumbency was a global trend.

Sorry I mis-read that. Yeah anyone with half a brain that doesn’t blindly follow the propaganda can see how badly they’re being fucked by him. But, it’s easier to blame the guy who doesn’t look or act like you than it is to take responsibility for empowering the imbeciles that are fucking you. Control the media control the masses, project your mistakes onto others, pass the buck, etc etc etc.

Oh, I’m sure you’ve seen they’re starting to raid farms and such now. Gonna be real hard to find people to do those shit jobs for minimum wage or less. tRumps gonna have a hard time insulating himself from that fallout. I’m sure he’ll find someone to take the fall though.

Is Tucker Carlson upset about Israel attacking Iran cause Russia is a key supporter of Iran? Is Russia paying him to be upset?

How did our favorite skateboarding moopet respond?

Israel v Iran: This could actually be a big win for the Trump admin. Iran is not a great nation-state and their repression of their people sucks. Seeing this regime change to something moderate would be great. However, I wonder if moderate would be allowed. There will be quite the power struggle between the USA and the regional powers for installing a government of their choice. I wonder who within the country each power will support or who each power will encourage to return to take over.

I wonder the Iranian Oil Company would be allowed to stay in place and if they country would be allowed to have a national oil company. I have a feeling Goldman Sachs/Exxon be in charge of the country and all its resources. But, Lukoil, Rosneft, and VTB are not going to like that.

I wonder what the country's relationship with Saudi looks like after.

Israel's and Netanyahu's ego would be out of control. And Saudi Arabia not having a strong regional power pushing back would suck. They have more power than they should already.

Surprised the admin is back to going after low paid workers in these industries. Business people won't allow for cheap labor to completely vanish. Stephen Miller's hatred is going to push up against the real GOP power, those who own the means of production. And, we're going to run into a reality where these jobs won't get filled. I imagine more will get filled than most people on the left think, but far less than those on the right believe. Who wants to live in the middle of nowhere far from family and friends to pick strawberries for less than min wage?

Yeah man this is totally gonna work, just like it did in Libya, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Haiti, Yugoslavia, Venezuela, Ukraine, Bolivia.

Oh, I’m sure you’ve seen they’re starting to raid farms and such now. Gonna be real hard to find people to do those shit jobs for minimum wage or less. tRumps gonna have a hard time insulating himself from that fallout. I’m sure he’ll find someone to take the fall though.
