If that happens, the US might move back toward fascists being closeted, at least in public/on the streets - maybe.... but even if the culture moves to find an equilibrium, the ransacking, bastardization, and mutilation of the administrative state will continue. Likely even amplify. Yet without the uhh... showmanship.. of our current president, it somehow might be less blatant and more covert.

Trump is likely more of an obstruction from what I can tell. The powers that be outbid the US Govt and American people, and Trump was just the catalyst. Hate taking buzzwords, but the deep state the right wouldn't stop crying about is exactly what we saw being installed in the first half of 2025.

People forget that CA is no longer an open carry state because of an NRA led campaign backed by Reagan when he was governor. They led the ban on open carry because  the Black Panthers were armed and walking around Sacramento.

The NRA is for protecting gun rights for those who they deem the appropriate people to carry.

They fought to give those guilty of domestic violence back their gun rights as they believe felons being denied guns was against their 2A rights. But when Hunter Biden was faced with losing gun rights due to a felony they were quiet. As they are quiet about gun control for people they don’t like.

Edit: NRA just announced they're against Trump and DOJ's sweeping banning of guns for the transgender community. Glad they spoke and out and am actually a bit shocked that they did.
