Predictably Brazil is exporting more soy beans and American farmers aren't getting any pre-orders from China. Lucky, us we get to bail out the people who voted for Trump's policies, because they're only supposed to hurt city folk, not rural folk.

Yay, its official, Trump killed off exports for American farmers and WE get to pay the farmers.
https://www.axios.com/2025/09/28/trump-tariffs-farm-bailout-thune

Weird, who could have seen this coming. It isn't like the exact same thing happened last time he was in office.
https://www.politico.com/news/2020/07/14/donald-trump-coronavirus-farmer-bailouts-359932

We made Brazil strong at the cost of our soy bean industry.

And, while we are letting thousands and thousands die due to "not waiting to give foreign aid." We are going to give 20 billion to Agentina to support Milie's cruel experiment.

Yay. Our cost of living goes up, the economy slows, hiring slows, all so we can let the poorest people die, pay a regressive tax to those who voted in Trump, and we can pay taxes to Argentina's neo-liberal nightmare.
[close]

The problem is these farmers got screwed in the same fashion back in 2017 by Trump and, again, they blame the “gubbamint” without making the connection that Trump is the “gubbamint.” Which is why they will vote for him again.

I say let them fail and let them lose their farms. They can sell them and work those fields as an employee.

Doesn’t help that the DNC rarely spend money on places it doesn’t think it can win, so they never get effective messaging from the other side in these areas

When you're right, you're right. That was one of Hillary's downfalls. She didn't visit rural areas thinking that Trump's talking about violence, misogyny, racism, and grabbing pussy would be his undoing. Nope. It won the hearts of the country folk.

Also, funny (in an irony way) that with a church being shot up and burned, FOX News and GOP are ignoring it completely when it came out that the guilty was a white MAGA veteran. Somehow, once again, shootings aren't tragic anymore.

Trump is now intending to put 100% tariffs on films not made in Hollywood.  Might be more fun to live in North Korea these days.

I'm curious how the nation's military leaders will take to Hegseth's "Warrior Ethos" speech for them tomorrow? Mostly because they vastly outrank the dude in title and experience.

In the end, I have a good feeling this will be a loyal litmus test to see which leaders they keep and which ones they'll replace with people like Hegseth.

This may be copium but I watched this guy talk about this other guy this past weekend and felt slightly better about how a possible military coup might play out.

I saw a sound bite today about a “consumer surveillance program” starting January 2026. Anyone have more info? Something about monitoring Amazon, Uber, AirBnB, etc and reporting to DHS?

Trump really told all the military leaders to use [liberal] US cities as training grounds for the military and there is little to no coverage on this. That comment is literally the basis fascism — using military on its own people. Media really trying to brush this under the rug and are commited to sane-washing whatever that man does.

Also, it was a loyalty litmus test. Especially with Trump literally saying this: I’m going to be meeting with generals and with admirals and with leaders, and if I don’t like somebody, I’m gonna fire them right on the spot.”

I wonder if the MAGA folks woke up every day thinking everything was going to shit the way normal people do now. Because I just can't equate worrying about trans athletes, pride flags, or what "woke" agenda was being pressed forward with the complete destruction of our Republic, the use of American troops against it's own people, and the utter disregard for our Constitution as the same. To think any of this is ok, I truly don't understand how any sane American can look at this ridiculous administration and really believe that they're making the country great again by dismantling every protection against tyranny we have, while lining the pockets of the greediest, wealthiest, bunch of shit bums who've ever existed.

Again, if you voted for this in 2024, or abstained from voting: Fuck you for that.

Who cares if the DNC didn't engage with you or you didn't find them engaging? They didn't speak to you? Oh, boo hoo, get the fuck outta here with all that. This is, in large part, on you.

It's called survival instinct. Gotta be smarter than to get tricked by the Conservative scumbags into voting for them, or to not vote for anyone because you didn't have a perfect candidate.

Thankfully, you have a chance to redeem yourselves, by actively voting against facists in every election, large or small, going forward.

This is real life. The Human Garbage is running the show right now. Get with the program.

Yup, a lot of us were correct in the Kamala thread. Everything we cautioned would happen has happened. We explained that single issue voting was overlooking a looming disaster in pursuit of immediate singular results. It was very obvious what was at stake, and still we were accused of “over-reacting” and assured “it’ll all be the same regardless of who wins the election”. We were accused of “TDS” when we identified fascism knocking on the door, and we insisted the “concepts of a plan” was P2025 all along.

We were right.

Where I was wrong was insisting that @Freelancevagrant was extreme in stating what may need to happen in order for this country to persist. He was ultimately correct in those regards.

Haven't been paying enough attn on here to keep track of who did or did not do what, nor would I care to even direct it at anyone particular here.

Just a general thought that comes over me whenever I see ICE vans in my neighborhood, or hear that Trump could possibly be in a role governing the Gaza strip, or when the military sets up shop in American cities, etc.

Idk about you guys, but having to watch some dude I saw kick a skateboard up into his own testicles warn his enemies to "F.A.F.O." is a hard pill to swallow for me.

A few things from today:

1. Trump went in front of America's Military Leaders and proclaimed war on US cities, quote, "use these cities and military training grounds.
2. Said Military leaders didn't cheer or applaud him, thus enraging him.
3. Lack of praise made Trump then proclaim, "I will be meeting with all leaders and anyone I don't like, I'm firing immediately."
4. Pete Hegseth then got up and said to these leaders (and in front of Trump) that being fat is basically being unprofessional.
5. He only wants to be around fit, young men.
6. He also got no praise or applause from people who outrank him.
7. Ted Cruz said on camera to stop bullying pedophiles.
8. The government is shutting down and Trump/GOP is blaming Dems even though they run all of congress.
9. The Epstein Files still haven't been released.

It's why the GOP want the shut down. They're delaying the swearing-in of the new rep from AZ because she'd be the deciding vote to release the Epstein files.

Woke up to helicopters flying over my house in Portland the other night, searching for immigrants.

https://www.koin.com/news/portland/are-military-helicopters-flying-what-we-know-09302025/

Boots on the ground later in the week. My kid works right by the ICE facility in South waterfront district. All the Keyboard MAGAs cheering this authoritarian posturing on, is insane to me.

I get a few messages a week from friends and family back home in Wales asking me when I'm bailing the US...

Haha. You been? (If not, I hope you get to go one day) Wales (England's first colony) is indeed a beautiful and stunning place but not without its own problems.... And Wales currently has a right-wing populist neighbor breathing down its neck, with Farage and his supporters. Wales is traditionally a very left-leaning nation. After all Aneurin Bevan, a welsh man. spearheaded the NHS but much to my disbelief right-wing populism is starting to get some bites here and there....

Oregon is also a beautiful and peaceful place, despite what Fox news tells you...

As the saying goes, the grass is always greener... and Both Wales and Oregon have very green grass. In Welsh we call this longing for a beloved place,  "Hiraeth," which to me is way more powerful than nationalism.... damn now I'm digressing and getting homesick...

Whoever is going to step up and lead the Democrats, now is a good fucking time to do it.

They need to aggressively message during the shut down. They need lean into any negatives that Trump is polling on and lean into immigration reform. This government shut down is going to suck, the pain needs to result in some sort of gain.

I think they should have Mayor Pete play good cop and they need someone strong to push the envelope a bit. As we've sunk into reality television politics, I still firmly believe Mark Cuban could easily make Trump and Vance and others look like fools all day long. And, not in a way that just makes people feel good about being educated, but in a way that makes Trump look like a bad businessman. It hammers Trump's supposed strength and exposes it to be a huge weakness.

On top the fact Cuban has an authentic masculinity that offers the cool ladies' man who--unlike Trump--doesn't rely on sexual assault and walking into teenage girls dressing rooms. Cuban is everything Trump wishes he was. I feel he could easily resonate with teenage and 20-something men as well as the broader democratic coalition.

It took a few days for this to show up in my feed, but I think this is what you're talking about:
https://fortune.com/2025/09/28/larry-ellison-ai-surveillance-oracle-tiktok-deal-social-media/

Larry Ellison, founder of Oracle and father of Paramount owner David Ellison, is apparently getting a controlling stake in TikTok due to the forced sale of the platform. The surveillance angle has come back up because Ellison advocated for an AI surveillance state during an Oracle earnings call last year. TikTok is a likely testing ground as much of the anti-Zionist movement lives there (at least that's what they think.) This is all pretty much straight out of the Dark Enlightenment playbook, which is an blackpill accelerationist ideology that aims to cause society's collapse which would allow the tech oligarchs to form new corporate governments. The recent Alien Earth show reflected this kind of society.

@FrAnKenFrEd

I have indeed been to Wales! I used to be married to an English girl and spent 9 months between England, Wales and southern France. Wales is my favorite place I’ve ever been!

My ex mother in law owns a farm in south Wales with a frontal view of the Brecon Beacons, Literal paradise!

I know that I will likely never make it back, but the beauty will always stay with me.

Sorry to derail folks! Carry on!

Ha! I’m only 1/4 Mong!

I think I’m probably a lot different than I’m viewed here, and that’s really my fault.

Gavin and Stacy! Ha! Well played! I think we were watching the series around the time we got married. Not sure what happened to the dvd set, or that the series aged very well. I feel like I’d have been happier had I married a Welsh girl instead of an English girl. The accent is much cuter and happier.

No really the truth is that I’m not suitable for relationships or being close to anyone.. regardless of nationality. South Wales would be a perfect location to be a hermit.

This has taken a confessional turn! Can we discuss Trump’s apparent dementia adled AI obsession?  ;D
